i feel units vet super quick with more dmg they do and more dmg they take. i think vet could use a little more effort to get. |
+1.
it's 230mp / 5 fuel . . . |
well it does go both ways, but to be more specific, the changes didnt have equal effects.
the majority of the grens increased damage comes from increased accuracy. since grens already had 100% accuracy against scout cars, their dps actually didnt go up dramatically against the m3. with 100% accuracy, the old dps was 2.9 at long range. the new dps would now be 3.5. thats a 21% increase. if youre shooting its front armor, the chance to pen has only gone up about 7%. those changes combined are still a lot less than the effect of grens going from 1.5 down to 1 armor, so the m3 gained much more than grens did.
wow, you got good stats.
thanks for correcting me.
but i still think its too weak health and armor wise. it does have a very good place at very early game, but as soon as germans start pumping out lmgs, pgrens, or armoured car, it will get melted away. i think the patch did a good job keeping 222 relevant mid-late game, but i dont think the same applies to m3. 222 only gained from this patch but only thing m3 got while losing some is one shot prevention from pak40 and tank shells. with only 20hp breathing room, i have to keep m3 fully repaired but this is hard in mid-late game as CEs then are used to lay mines and repair more important vehicles and at guns in my case.
im not saying its useless. i love using them. i just think 222 is just way much better. i know they are different units but m3 is the only sov's only early light vehicle. |
it survives a single faust and will typically still force the gren to retreat. good players will consider this a buff. people who try to circle 2 pios and dont even try to save their vehicles when damaged will be disappointed.
the fact german infantry has lost all of its armor (except pgrens who still lost the majority of it) is a significant boost to its dps.
the fact it costs more mp and less fuel is also a buff in my opinion. mp is obviously much easier to get, is impossible to cut off, and doesnt delay your teching like fuel.
i dont think redone armor and health gives m3 buff against panzerfaust. only 20 more hp with very low armor still leaves it as vulnerable as it was before the patch(after being fausted) in my opinion. ill say 20hp boost gave buff against one pak shot for sure.
and with higher damage that small arms do and armor debuff that m3 got, m3 in distance will take good damage, just as m3 does good damage due to inf armor changes. so it goes both ways.
what i have problems is that when i try to flank mg with penals in it or flanking any other weapons teams, even weapons team members not manning the weapon still does decent damage to m3 which didn't happen before. but i guess thats just how it is. |
30-40% decrease in armor and ~12% health increase in health just so it can survive one pak shot. i wouldn't say it got a huge love. |
Have anyone here actually considered KITING with M3?
You know, germans no longer have 1.5 armor and M3 is really decent in itself as long range support, put engies with flamer for weapon team flanks and retreat kills. Works nicely for me, but it still feels extremely squishy.
+1
m3's 50cal is a beast now. feels like one burst one kill for me.
but it still does feel too squishy seeing how it's sov's only early light vehicle and it's suppose to "maintain the role into mid-late game". |
You do know that 'authentic' has a different meaning from 'realistic', don't you?
Here, let me show you some examples between the two. You know, so you can wrap your brain around it..
Compare these 3 games:
- Blitzkrieg
- CoH2
- Call of duty: world at war
Both Blitzkrieg and CoH2 are authentic WW2 RTS games. Both have units that were actually used in the war and have maps resembling the actual fronts. Neither of them have fantasy elements such as Soviets and Americans fighting together in Paris. This makes both games authentic.
However, of the two, only Blitzkrieg is realistic. Tanks generally get blown up by one penetrating hit, tanks destroy infantry etc. Units act like you would expect them to after watching a few hours of the history channel. CoH2 on the other hand is not realistic, and this is fine. After all, Relic has never even tried to create an illusion of realism.
Call of duty: world at war is neither authentic nor realistic. It is a fantasy game based on WW2. In this game, you could play as a german soldier, arm yourself with a japanese made Type99 machine gun with a bayonet on it, and fight russians equiped with american drum-magazined tommie guns and japanese pistols.
I would rather not have CoH2 become a fantasy WW2 game where germans are fighting off soviets in Holland or France. It is not what I was sold as a paying customer.
i have no idea where you got the meaning of realistic and authentic from. so authentic means the general atmosphere is accurate and realistic means small details are accurate?
i'm sorry if i came vitriolic. I do see your point though. I loved playing cod2 and when cod5 came out, i was uncomfortable with using weapons not pertaining to each faction.
i just don't get why it has to be a big deal. It's like watching a movie with 'based on a real story' with few tweaks in it. |
What is the difference? American Rangers sprinting over the frozen Volga river is not in the realm of WW2. Soviet soldiers screaming OORAAH in the streets of Paris is also not in the realm of WW2.
If we get that, I want some damn zerglings rushing through the Ardennes. Fighting against purple uniformed minigun soldiers. It makes about equal sense.
the difference is that one is unit based on real ww2 soldiers just having some in game mechanic ability and the other is an alien thingy that doesnt even exist.
why dont you ask relic so that when you are playing soviet, change the map names so maps like 'paris' is 'pariski' or 'ardenne' is 'ardenngrad' .just for you, even though you look over the fact that tanks don't massacre inf, il2 gun hits units and they only bleed?, lay mines in matter of seconds, units have infinite ammo, units dont get into melee combat when face to face, and so much more.
you look over all these but suddenly your brain can't wrap around another little historical inaccuracy.
|
Great! Theb you would not oppose relic adding aliens to the game? I mean, who cares right? It fits your logic.
The 'X is unrealistic, therefore anything goes' argument is stupid.
relic is just adding new factions within the realm of ww2 to make game more diverse. you make it sound like relic is going to add units with purple uniform and minigun. |
this is a competitive RTS? really? Well if its a competitive rts it is the WORST competitive rts of all time.
If i want to play a competitive RTS i buy starcraft.
they should add 'east', 'west', or both option for sure |
