...What can counter a decently/even marginally supported JT? Any advice would be very appreciated.
just be winning already before it comes on the field .
i found out that when enemies get JT when things are neck to neck and if you do not have enough to engage it immediately as in INF to decrew hidden raks and two fireflies more tanks (doesnt have to be AT) and support weapons to cover the flank while your tank forces and assault INFs charge ahead... try to get the right ingredients asap - and if you have the right units already, go for it asap as long as the positioning is god damn awful for you.
what I am saying is that you are dealing with a time bomb - longer JT is on the field, less and less chance you are getting back exponentially... |

to me, i think katty level of rockets arty should be the top - in terms of wipe chances, devastation, area denial etc etc. and adjust costs accordingly. |

Also, unlike many RTS, maps almost entirely govern gameplay. I'm painting a very broad stroke, but things like resources tied to map control, sight/shot blockers necessitating unit positioning, directional cover, front/rear armor on vehicles, all have huge impacts on how units and factions interact. Map balance is such a crucial component of the CoH franchise. Though it is often overlooked and even ignored, the way maps play probably are more important than how factions are designed in teamgames. If anything it's a foundational component to faction design.

more and more i play and think about it, i think the changes make sense - high priorities one especially.
m8 scott used to be two shotted - smae with stuart. in the same sense i think mediums shouldnt be able to be two shotted by JT or ELE.
and please remove command tank aura affecting allies. |
as much as i hate to agree with many axis only players here, as an allied main player, i would have to agree most are just unneeded.

ele,jagd, crocs etc etc they are a problem of "critical massing" in teamgames.
when totally even game, getting ele, jagd, they are a huge investment and it does mean that your team can very much be lacking 2-3 tanks just because of that unit. What makes those two super heavies problem is when the axis side is winning and when you are winning, those purchases 'risk v. reward' calculation changes drastically to where risk becomes minimal and reward, exponential.
same with croc. same with brit emplacements.
the problem of critical mass if rooted in maps, maps maps. and yes i know it will probably never be fixed even half way but when, to me, a clear deeper issue causes the plague that is on 3v3+, i feel trying to bandage around this tumor is almost pointless.
I am not saying "its ded gaem, ded gaem mode, just let it die". but there is only so much bandages can do and at some point, it will do nothing, maybe even more harm than good. i feel we reached that point with the big team gamemodes.
but there are still big things to fix like one shot wipers, command aura, emplacements...

What else would they do? Last WW2 COD was Pacific/Eastern. Normandy hasn't been done in a long time in a AAA game, will be nice to revisit now with photorealistic graphics. Less iconic campaigns might be a piece of the singleplayer, (like North Africa COD2), but if one campaign is the focus of a WW2 game it will always be Eastern Front, Pacific, or Brits/Amis post D-Day. Italians in Greece? Japan in China? Never happening, get over it.

as soon as i watched the trailer, i thought saving private ryan - but there's nothing inherently wrong with that.
if you are looking for some shoutout to lesser known part of the war from AAA game releases, i do not know what kind of koolaid you are drinking. even CoD World at War and CoH2 had fronts other than western almost solely to exploit the market with "the forgotten front" shit.
i just hope they have long quality campaign like cod2 with guns with recoils... please. |
