Call me crazy here but changing multiple variables at once does not yield an accurate result. Nah, volley was OP in so many ways that it needed several different changes at once before it could even approach reasonable. We shall see if that actually happened or not. And the same thing with the USF HT. You made it more expensive, which is fine, then you made it worse which is WTF when you take it in context with a price increase. In fact the only thing that has actually changed is that it accelerates a bit slower and costs 5 more fuel. The unit needed a lot more than this, but alas it didn't happen. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: July 3rd Patch Notes3 Jul 2014, 07:27 AM I don't understand how the M15 AA changes are supposed to make it easier for any of those vehicles. 222 penetration is 35. 222 armor is 9. Puma penetration is >80. Puma armor is 25. OKW FLAK HT penetration is >20. Armor is 11. None would ever fail to penetrate previously, and would always get penetrated in return. And this won't change with the new values. The only actual change is thus acceleration and +5 fuel cost. Meanwhile the insane, 50% higher than ostwind DPS WITH FREE SUPPRESSION, is still there. The quadrupling of the flak HQ damage is also way overboard, even doubling it would've already made it quite powerful. Now it'll effectively lock up the entire firing area around it. What more could you want? Well I've only seen a couple of the at guns from actually decent players, and they have not posed a problem for PIVs once. The basic issue here is that as they have a ~50% chance to penetrate vet2 PIV front on the first long range shot whenever not running the AP ability, you often end up doing no damage before you're flanked especially with the USA's lack of vehicle snaring. The 4-man crew is pretty easy to clear too. The high penetration, slower firing approach of the other AT-guns works better in the realities of COH2 than the fast fire, low penetration of the 57mm. Much easier to ground target, much higher alpha strike on the "guaranteed" first shot. In: COH2 Balance

USF has manpower issues later into the game as it is and the snipers drain them pretty hard while never really having to worry about being countersniped. They literally melt to obersoldaten, regardless of vet, yet people still call for nerfs. Yes, Obersoldaten need a nerf too. Just because OKW has ridiculous infantry doesn't mean that riflemen are balanced. Plus riflemen being so dominating early game leads to far bigger balance problems in 1vs1 than the obersoldaten purely because of when they come onto the field. Problem with USA is that it's very much a one trick faction right now. If/when the AA HT rush gets fixed, volley fire gets changed to single target and riflemen (&lieutenant) are made to perform more to cost, I'm not sure how exactly USA is supposed to actually win after the first few engagements where they can outnumber their opponent easily. Their AT gun is bad, the infantry howitzer is bad, their tanks are bad, they have no snipers (pathfinders really don't count), they have no non-doctrinal mines on infantry. Their light vehicles are pretty good (Stuart, M8H, M20), but those aren't going to win games in the long run especially when their atgun can't realistically hold off tanks due to the bad penetration on it.
