I've mentioned it a few times elsewhere though not in that original thread, but in all likelihood the captain bonus will only apply to models that were alive when the squad first spawned. It is set to permanent: false;, which was the only attribute that was changed to true on a bunch of veterancy bonuses that Relic claimed were only applying to models that were alive when the squad went up in veterancy.
The lieutenant accuracy bonus should be fine, but I can't say if it is applied retroactively to existing squads if you get a lieutenant later, nor am I sure if the bonus goes away with lieutenant dying. |
Imagine a circle jerk fest where AA halftracks run around the map and return to base for the "pit crew" of several vehicle squads repair them at a very fast pace.
That said, it might be much of a problem if they are found in later tiers. Tier zero? No way.
Rear echelons repair faster than vehicle squads. |
The only reason I'd ever want to buy a vehicle crew is because rear echelons crewing tanks will not autorepair upon leaving it. Which is annoying with the already higher than other faction micro required for USF.

The 57mm definitely needs a buff in penetration. Right now I see no reason to take a 57mm over a pak unless you're really desperate for an AT gun.
Well...let's be honest here, there is no reason to pick up any atgun instead of PaK, because PaK does everything best. As long as you're airborne so you get access to 57mms on demand without the deadbeat Captain tier, the 57mm is definitely the second best ATgun in the game right now. |
Steam achievements:
Play 10 Campaign missions 11.4%
Complete Campaign on conscript 11.2%
The achievement numbers are really low for CoH2, what's up with that...only 30% of people have finished first campaign mission, 25% have played against AI once and 18.3% have played one automatch game...why on earth do so many people own this game without ever touching it? I mean it hasn't exactly been sold dirt cheap so far so they probably paid >8 euros for it.
Anyway, I'd assume that a decent percentage of the campaign achievements are by people like me who did play through the campaign once even though my interests lay almost purely in multiplayer. I'd never buy the game for a singleplayer experience, and so I'm not in any way interested in AA. |
Aaaaaand patch.
This patch had zero balance changes (and hopefully map changes, which could potentially screw this up) so making replays work is simply a question of changing the first 4 hex values. Get a new replay from this game version (playing for 1 second against AI in skirmish is enough), open in a hex editor, copy first 4 values, replace first 4 values in an old version replay with them.
Replace this at file start:
00 00 C8 3C
With this:
00 00 EC 3D |
Elefant: mostly ok right now, it's a doctrinal AT specialist that is very unmaneuverable so while it is potentially very strong when you can't flankit has clear weaknesses already
ISU152: lots of different ways to go about fixing it, personally would enforce a small setup time so it can't immediately fire after moving, and would give it a HE/AP switch like Sherman where the current HE rounds have fairly bad penetration while the AP rounds have a radius similar to Jagdtiger
Jagdtiger: should not shoot through obstacles, that should be limited purely to the immobile pak43 for free, can be munition ability like on ISU (even a timed one, but price has to be fairly high). |
You mean when they streamed Observer Mode, which "The Community" had been asking for for ever, and next to no one appreciated that and wanted to talk about balance and bugs?
Had "the community" really been asking for it? Most mentions of wanting it I ever saw came from Ami and Rogers and a few other in the casting community, and the vast majority of them have already left the game at this point.
For me it just represents resources wasted on a feature I don't want instead of bug fixes that would vastly improve the quality of play. I realize that Relic as a relatively small developer does not have the resources to do everything, which is why I dislike it when those resources are used on a very marginal feature like this. |
Some building capabilities added to this explanation. Quite realistic and historical accurate in fact, huh?
Cool, when can I expect a further 30% cost discount on all allied vehicles to atleast partially make up for the actual difference in dps compared to effective HP?

I hear OKW has a vehicle called Stuka zu Fuß that solves such problems in a matter of seconds. For Ostheer, mortar HT + incendiary rounds = destroyed FHQ and lots of crispy russians. |
