Aside from the isu/elephant and soviet mines this patch has been the best one.
Judging balance by 4v4 is next to impossible. Play 1v1 and 2v2 for a more balanced game.
-be careful about mines they tend to instantly kill squads (get 2 pios with sweepers)
-don't spread out if you are playing against t1.
-get mortar if you are playing against t2.
-dont skip t2, ac 222 and pak are your best friends
-pg are good for shreks
-stug is really good now especially in numbers (ex 2-3)
And remember cons beat grens in most situations now.
This would also force soviet players to budget how they spend munitions. As things stand atm soviets generally have excess munitions allowing for mols to be thrown indiscriminately, mines to be spammed at every choke point and still have change for at nades, buttoning, weapon upgrades etc. Prepatch I would have said soviets needed excess munitions to control pgren spam and ost armour but recent changes give sov the advantage in those areas. Strategy requires decision making and thats not the case with soviets. There shouldn't be free access to every upgrade/ability in the game.
That being said, mine detectors should be the first upgrade for every ost player. Period. If the ost player wants to play aggressive like sov and opt for nades, lmg, scout car upgrade then they have to wear the risk. Just a matter of changing playstyles tbh.
As previously stated watch the engineers and anticipate......
exactly, and reduce mine spam which has gone out of control
I hope you mean "beasts" as in heavy tanks because you sure did not play like a beast in that game, lol. Your whole game hinged on exploits including op and spamable mines and op isu152.
Surprise played really good, his only mistake was not getting sweepers much sooner on his engineers and possibly not getting one mortar to force your maxims to keep moving.
I don't usually download replys but since Juslin posted a losing game I thought this is really good, but I was disappointed. For the first 16 minutes the game is full of mistakes.
Juslin:
-did not send 1 unit to capture opponent fuel side in the beginning
-focused on one area too much (his cutoff)
-did not get molotiv!!!!
-got in losing engagements
-was going where his opponent wanted him to
-the cut-of he tried around 4-5 min was very weak, Gaip already had the vp connecting everything
-getting mortar first was not the best choice, the mortar only started paying dividends at minute 9, I think a well microed maxim would have been more useful at the start
Gaip:
-had this game but his biggest mistake was teching up to t4
-making a sniper instead of a second mg and a ht cost him map control
-not making an at gun until Sherman was out
Basically Gaip relaxed from the easy win he had at the beginning while Juslin made a good doctrine choice to counter that. Gaip could have finished that game in 20 minutes instead his mistake made it last 1 hour.
Do you hold shares in Relic or something? Or are you got such a blind love for Coh2 you can't see what a majority of players can see? How about you jump off that high horse that you are riding and perhaps try and understand where other players are coming from for once?
Perhaps Relic could create a new league just for you because you're so pro? Seriously dude, I don't mean to offend you, but this is how you come across, like you're pro and everyone else is a noob, which couldn't be further from the truth.
I do not want to turn this into a flame war, but Daniel has raised some very good points. You can't possibly think Kharkov North is a balanced position to start from when compared to the south? What about North Langreskaya? You mean to tell me that position is completely balanced when it can be easily cut off.
He probably does not, but I just checked his stream and he was using 3 snipers, against his opponent on langers. Talk about exploiting a balance problem; grens being only 4 soldiers and sniper being 2 soliders. He eventually lost the game and was complaining about panzer tactician smoke, lol.
I think lots of people really forgot about the point of strategy games. Its about adapting and using the terrain to your advantage, I'm glad company of heroes isnt completely fair in every situation its what makes the game great and gives great players the ability to shine and show why they are great. there is no such thing as perfect balance and there never will be that being said as in real life war in game you can use tactics and superior thinking and terrain to either make or break your match. No map is so unfair that it decides whether or not you win. You do that with how you play and utilize the terrain and what you do to prevent your opponent from using the terrain agianst you. Its a strategy game guys stop spending so much time complaining about this are that and start using in game tactics and strategy to over come and turn around that is why I have always played strategy games. I didnt know we all played this game to Cry nonstop if everything is not exactly the same for all and if it was it would be completely faky and well very boring and not fun.
Not perfect, but good or even better excellent balance, that's what most experienced players are asking for. Keep in mind most of the people who commented play both factions, so they know what they are talking about.
Also the things that were pointed out, are very obvious problems with those maps.
Good news, after experimenting a little bit I found that if you try searching when there are 3,000+ players you get allot fewer noobs on your team. Also as some suggested stopping the search after a couple of minutes and restarting it helps too.
