Yeah its pretty beastly against infantry now, especially with vet. |
Like every other infantry unit in the game other than shocks. PGs still use the best infantry weapon in the game and only lost a tiny amount of short range accuracy. They will still be great for flanking and clearing out support weapons and regular Soviet infantry, to say nothing of using the best infantry-based AT weapon in the game as well.
PGs feel like they got hit a little too hard. They feel a little squishy to fill their assault role. I honestly felt they were fine before, maybe the accuracy nerf was enough, but as a 4 man squad the functions up close, it seems like the 1.2 armor was warranted. |
This patch has me really stoked. At first play through it feels like a much more well rounded game. So much improved over the last patch. I'm definitely going to try and get some of my friends in on it this weekend.
Also, props on the new commanders. I think they are well designed and fit the game much better than commanders like soviet industry and elite troops. Thank you for listening, relic! Well done! |
ATGs are a great counter to armor now, as they should be. Also its a little to early to make judgements on the game w/o enough context. Lets play more and then decided how we feel. |
What future tanks? Abrams or russian t-90? ))) LOL
I'm guessing the priest |
It fires HE rounds, so no decrease
I'm not sure if this is the case with ISU-152s. I thought I read a post somewhere saying that the penetration values in respect to HE rounds only applied to artillery. Can someone confirm/deny? |
I would really like to see a graph of the Tank pen effective ranges similar to the small arms weapon profiles graphs that were made. This would give us an idea of what ranges each tank is most effective, and would allow people to compare them all at a glance. I imagine most of this will be obvious after playing a dozen games or so, but it would still be nice to have none the less.
As far as the patch goes I think its another step in the right direction. I still don't see the T-70 having a real role, even with the armor buff it still has pathetic hp and comes at roughly the same time as Ost T3 tanks. Perhaps the mobility buffs will give it enough spunk to be annoying in the hands of a skilled player. Again, this is all speculation and I don't want to go to far down the rabbit hole without actually playing.
The arty changes make me scratch my head though. They were already pretty divisive as a unit. You either had the doctrine to counter them, or they shelled your base into oblivion. Now they are just less effective at the latter. Still doesn't fix the underlying issue that unless you have the recon run/arty combo they are almost impossible to deal with. |
The main problem is the cooldown to turn is off isn't long enough to dodge a rifle nade after using it. That and you have to be standing on top of your enemy to do any damage with PPSHs, and with no mobility, your opponent simply walks away and picks at you from a distance....the ability is useless. |
If it was, we would have notes already.
Relic does maintenance every tuesday if you have yet to notice this.
It wouldn't suprise me if they released the patch this week. They are doing a reddit QA tomorrow around when they normally patch. Perhaps with the holiday they will release the notes tomorrow and the patch wednesday? |
Ive been trying to do other things then gren spam but it always come back to how to fight off an early m3 spammer. Without maximum gren coverage a skilled m3 player can have his/her way with you. Maybe with a bike people wouldn't be forced to gren spam, but the current meta demands it.
Yeah the M3 is certainly strong in the hands of a good player, but german t2 easily deals with it, and I always miss my maxims and zis when I go t1. |
