Bahaha, that was great, well done! |
I think currency system + being able to purchase commanders if you want would be the best of both worlds. People could earn commanders, skins, faceplates through play time, and they could do so in a way that felt reasonable. Those that don't want to wait can buy it right away.
The current system leaves people feeling disappointed by constantly opening "rewards" only to find a useless bulletin or a skin/commander they have already paid for. I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't get a drop for ~30+ games, as long as when it dropped I knew I was getting content that I both wanted, and didn't already own (for those that can't read between the lines, THE NEW COMMANDERS FFS).
Also, a lot of people when given the option to play for content or purchase it, will likely purchase the content as a gesture of good faith in supporting the devs. I think this option is reasonable, will dispel the p2w notion, and make relic lots and lots of money. |
Outside of a few units (M15, i'm looking at you), I think the game is pretty balanced at the moment. |
I don't understand why there isn't a currency system. If they want to reward players for spending time in game, having an exact number to shoot for is much more rewarding than feeling consistently disappointed. They could even make the hours played similar to the number it would take to get them dropped randomly.
The current system leaves me feeling consistently disappointed and frustrated, with only a fleeting moment of happiness when you get the drop you want. Having a currency system would give players the feeling of working towards, and accomplishing something of significance, it's really not hard to see how that would be a much better solution |
Good game against double M15s into M10s and 250 mm arty. Good example of how you can use S-mines to really make it hard for your opponent to gain back map control. Really punishes infantry heavy play. Fun managing the massive flood of m10s late in the game. I feel like an earlier bulldozer sherman would have been great. I used my pumas like shit this game. |
Doesn't it take twice as long to produce? Which limits your early game capping power? I might be off on this, so someone please confirm or deny.
I have destroyed the rifle commander in the two times I've played it as ostheer by getting 3 mg42s, 2 grens and an early pak (to deal with the flaktrack). Granted the opposition wasn't that great. Honestly I don't know why people aren't building more MGs against american players going 4+ rifles.
If you have the assgren doctrine the pgrens in a 250 can easily wipe the floor. Before you show your hand wait to find a lone capping rifle squad, sit out of at nade range until he gets low and is forced to retreat, and run it down. Later in the game you can equip them with shrecks that are great support against the paper thin american armor. Oh and you get the stuge which just wrecks amis, followed by a tiger. Honestly The ass gren doctrine is a pretty easy win against Americans regardless of their commander choice, if you can survive the flak track. |
I think the Puma is terribad as well, its pathing is worse than AIDS. As for everything else? I don't know what pipe you're smoking.
Dude...pumas are one of the most cost effective anti tank vehicles in the game, their pathing is totally fine. Highly mobile, great LOS, great range, smoke, AND a vehicle stun? The unit is an absolute BEAST. Its the only saving grace for the OKW at the moment. This statement made me do a double take. |
What i´m trying to aim with this? Basically making the FHT arrive a bit earlier but not as much as being unlocked at T2. Also would make a bit fuel easier going for T4, specially on 1v1.
While it seems a bit delicated touching Panthers cost, i think this is one way of solving a problem without making any big changes.
Actual price:
BP2 = 200mp + 55 fuel
T3 = 160mp + 25 fuel
What i imagine:
BP2 = 200mp + 25 fuel
T3 = 160mp + 55 fuel
This is just a swap, i even think of increasing the difference a bit more but that might rush the FHT a bit too much.
This is a really great idea imo. Tier 4 is soo expensive for what you get, and the flametrack typically comes too late to be of good use imo. Two birds, one stone, P4s and otswinds arrive at the same time as before. |
its no where near equally viable after maxims gain map poistion. Mortars and Snipers cannot wipe maxims squads fast enough vs their re-inforce time. Zis barrage adds to the pain. Nerfing rotation time for maxim did absilutely nothing. BECAUSE YOU ARE SPAMMING and TURTLING THE maxims. Just like you do with siege tanks in starcraft. You can reinforce squads with merge as well which allows them to keep chugging along.
I just think the way soviets are made is fundamentally broken in theory, far too many advantages and cheap moves like button and ridiculously cheap mines. Units are just far too multifunctional and dominate their equivalents due to the key advantages they have. They also have diverse options that can be changed far to easily in game
Hey dude props for taking the time to articulate your opinion. You are still the master of hyperbole, but this is a step in the right direction I agree with your points on the soviets having an army that is generally a pita to deal with, and when playing against them I feel like I have to outmicro my opponent really hard just to break even. However, a factions ease of use does not make them overpowered, it just makes them...easier. |
I had the same thing happen to me. 2v2 ost + okw versus soviet + american. I'm playing OKW and we dominate the whole game, knowing that the soviet player is going isu (multiple isu bulletins, went guards) so I save for the Jag, thinking gg wp you just played into my hands. Nope, after 3 minutes on the field, saving all of my fuel for the last ~15 minutes, I am hit by the first barrage of this ability, stunned, and then promptly 100-0'd. No joke, 100% of the hp, completely erased during the duration of the stun. Absolutely no counter play. Pissed me off so bad I quit playing for the rest of the day :\
Like wooof said, shits broke. |
