IMO, the problem with ISU, and to the broader extent of COH2 is the design of AOE, not the ISU itself. Currently, AOE weapon like IS, ISU, Brumbar, kat+werfer, mortar and mines either have godlike squadwipe potential or completely useless. I think AOE damage should be reduced but increase its accuracy and make AOE weapon pin down troops. That way, AOE weapon actually reward combined arms (U still need actual direct weapon while AOE weapon punish blobbing). AOE was and will be anti blob, anti camp weapon. For everything else, direct weapon should be superior. |
If you can't spam enough cons, then let me doubt about your efficiency as a soviet player.
Feel free to check my rank. |
The thing here is COH2 rocket works differently from vCOH. In vCOH, remember how useless the nebel was? Then Relic gives rock Damages over time, which transform Nebel from borderline useless to godlike vs US .30cal + 57mm AT wall(Against Brit it's not even funny). In COH2, rocket has less AOE, deal less damage and arrive much later, all of that amounts to the fact that both rocket launcher units are even worse than normal mortar. Futhermore, in the old days rocket fire more accurately if u have line of sight on the unit, in COH2, accuracy is directly related to range and vet, nothing else. |
Because your opinion is not shared. Pripyat sector layout is imba and the river through the middle is bad for harassment and encourages campy and often boring games.
I'm talking about the winter version man. The summer version sucks, no doubt, the winter map is the 1st map to incorporate repair station + watch tower, it makes for some nice game pace, VP and fuel spread out, AT gun is extremely dangerous because due to snow + ice tanks can't just yolo through AT wall. Prypiat winter is one of the excellent show case of winter mechanics. Sure, the game can evolve to boring ele vs ISU, but in 1v1 and without these 2 guys, the map is a nice change from the usual Kholodny and Langres. |
GG, but I find the lack of mines from both sides disturbing. Jesulin, u built demo charge but it got rarely used. At 1 time Giap put a Pak next to it, if u stole that Pak, the game will end in 20 mins max. |
What, you want a squadwhiper to have even greater accuracy? You have the precision strike. And for the record I wouldn't make the trade you suggested. 120 mm is the best mortar in the game, 2 of them will deny any german infantry push. It doesn't even need to be that accurate.
But with the 400 mp tag, 2 of them and how many cons can u have? Soviet support weapon is only good when cons are around, without cons, none of that matters. |
Soviet has some problem too, u know:
1. Going penal + flamethrower spam means u got absolutely no defense against SC. Penal scales very bad in mid and late game.
4. Ele has the same view range and it can get the scope.
German
2. Lol no, short of IS-2, panzerfaust crit every Soviet armor while AT grenade sometimes can't even pen the Stug.
4. Ele + MG/Stug and Soviet can't do anything. ISU only counter tanks if it is far away, T-34s have trouble penning Ele rear. |
IMO, Pripyat winter is a nice map for 1v1, why it was removed? |
Currently, the only use for PG is Shreck, but a Pak + Teller mines just do everything better. |

Flank them like you would any mg. The lmg42 is terrible close range.
So any tips on how to deal with LMG42 spam in "Crossing the woods"? Grens just own everything at that map. |
