Personally if I was going to fast T-2 I wouldn't just spam PzGrens, I'd add a flamer halftrack or upgunned 222 depending on whether or not I see scout cars or lots of support weapons. You wouldn't be behind. You just back-tech. Conscripts with PPSH and Hit the Dirt can deal with the first wave of PG's then you build the tank building get an SU-85 out then build a support building for Maxims. Or another way don't build a support building at all and spam snipers, they cost the same as PG's. 3 sniper squads backing up Conscripts with HTD is lethal. In: Ostheer Strategies

You played fine did everything you could, but they used the super powered over the top Opel and Strafe. I played a game the other day, had 3 quarters of the map, guy was literally turtling all game but the points he did have were impossible to attack as they were full of bunkers, PG's with shreks, MG's everywhere. He had 75 points left on the clock, mine was full, but I lost. Only found out why after the replay. He had Opel Blitz ticking over the whole time. Massed PG's with Shreks and 2 Panzers. When he did finally attack, I had no SU 85's left and most of my army was gone just trying to get through his impenetrable lines. It sucked I played so hard and he played so little yet he won. Maybe I should have set mines everywhere and just made defensive positions but it was too late. The problem isn't how you play your game it's the fact that Opel Blitz is pathetic and totally unfair if a player abuses its power like they all try to. Rant over lol. In: Red Army Strategies

It's worked for me twice now. I start pio-spamming, and get 4 (mathematically, this works out the maximum number while getting the fastest possible t2. No t1. I typically try to secure 1 fuel and 1 munitions. Then, build t2. I go for a pgren first, followed by a scout car. The scout car (no upgun) is typically enough to chase away a clown car or sniper car from the pgrens, (and up till now they've been killing cheap pios, not grens). From there- ownage. I have a replay myself (still figuring out how to upload), but instead check out the featured replay- It only works well if the player doesn't change his strategy to meet the threat. When facing 1 or 2 PG's I use a couple of snipers, but when I start seeing 3 PG squads I see what's happening, build a Support building and bring out Maxims. They destroy PG's. And if I see loads of Pioneers about early that's a dead give away that you're gonna get spammed by PG's. I got PG spammed once and lost only because I never changed my strategy. That was a hard lesson learnt. PG spam used to worry me now I say bring it on as it's so easy to counter with Maxims and I love that the player is using all his manpower while dying to my snipers and cheap to build Maxims. Oh and the free PanzerShreks for my units is a nice bonus. Play me with your strat I'm up for it. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: Maxim Spam + SU85 (aka attack move win)24 Jul 2013, 13:58 PM Jump back to quoted post21 Jul 2013, 20:36 PMraw After about 100 games of using the scout car I went back to this strat, because the support weapon kompaneya/maxim gives you more staying power, better map control and allows for a larger room of error. If you open up with the tent, after you have lost the scout car you'll get pushed in hard and may not be able to recover from that vs. a decent enemy. You can also get the Zis-26 when things go haywire in midgame. I never use maxims ever now unless I start seeing more than one PanzerGren squad. Even then I prefer a sniper or 2 to beat the PG's. And the scout car is more for MG's in buildings and cutting their supply lines, never put it near an enemy unit. Your tactical play will never improve if you feel you have to have Maxims to control the map as they need no micro, just sit and wait. One thing I learnt in this game is you need confidence in yourself and your tactical thinking to win a game vs a good player. Maxim spam to get control will not improve your game or your micro skills. Check out HelpingHans replays as Russians, you won't see no Maxims and he wins against equally as good players. I learnt a lot from his replays, he is a very impressive high level player. In: Red Army Strategies

You won't it's how I play all the time. Infantry is only a problem if you didn't preserve your units from the beginning and neglected a medic station. Unit preservation is the biggest part of this game. I usually have 5 cons and 2 snipers out before an SU and right when I get an SU I tend to see the first Panzer. Unless I see he starts spamming panzergrens then I build a support building and get a few MG's before an SU. In: Red Army Strategies

Thread: Grenadiers vs Conscripts Question20 Jul 2013, 14:22 PM If they both upgraded, Grenadiers with LMG's and Cons with PPSH, who wins on average? It's annoying me I don't know as it makes me cautious and clueless if I should fight or not. Grenadiers won last time I fought them with both of us upgraded but the Grenadiers did have veterancy, so still stuck...
