Thread: 0 CP call-ins - design principals28 Sep 2013, 13:26 PM I think the 0CP call-ins should be retained and the munition cost removed. An alternate way to balance it would be to significantly increase the recharge time on the call-in ability itself, possibly removing this penalty once 1cp hits to allow these units to scale into the game. Ie. first AG has 2 min recharge time, which reverts to the current 20-30s? once 1cp arrives. My vision is that these units would remain t0 to allow these commanders to open up new aggressive builds for the german, but require reliance on regular t1 units or engineers to fill in the rest of the army early game. AG's and ostheer should be supplements, not replacements for the rest of the german infantry units. Moving these units to CP 1 takes away most the point of the new commanders, which is to allow aggressive early game play. Why should the soviets have a monopoly on early game capping power/aggression? In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Matching times in COH228 Sep 2013, 13:18 PM regarding 1v1s, it is completely dependent on who is searching in your skill range. I've had games pop up the second I clicked search, but more often it takes a bit. The reason is simply that less people are playing this game than, say, DOTA 2 Generally to maximize your chances to find people to play with, the after work US EAST time zone has good overlap with the euro evening time zone... so like 1500-2000 gmt-5? Thread: Assault Grenadiers costing munitions.27 Sep 2013, 13:38 PM do not require AGs to buy the mp40 upgrade that gives them their purpose. You may as well make guards purchase their AT rifles at that point. Better solutions would be significantly increase the call-in cooldown time, possibly removing the penalty once the 1st cp hits. You call in your first unit at 2 seconds into the game, and then you are hitting like a 2 min recharge time until cp1 removes it back to the current default. AG's will be a combined arms multiplier rather than replace to grens. I'm leaning towards not increasing the cost or cp's required to 1, since the issue seems to be the speed at which the unit comes out, not its effectiveness in combat. It's effective in combat BECAUSE it rushes t0. I think its a good change to counter-balance, albiet with a single doctrine sadly, the initial utility that soviet players get by building cons from their HQ at the start of a game. AG's still suffer from lack of a molotov, oorah, weapon upgrades, faust, and a pricey grenade ability that I still say "meh" to. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Assault Grenadiers costing munitions.26 Sep 2013, 22:17 PM the only reason I was getting this unit was to throw out an early squad to contest fuel points that normally get the first conscript squad while the first gren is building. With a mun cost, this doctrine just lost a lot of interest to me. I never made more than 1-2 AGs for a balanced army anyway. Thread: Multiplayer # of players searching display26 Sep 2013, 22:15 PM If anything hide the bulletins and cdrs of the rival player. there is no real reason to show me that a player has 3 t-34 bulletins so I should expect him to rush for fuel/tanks early. Thread: Feedback: Soviet Counterattack Tactics26 Sep 2013, 01:53 AM Just won a game vs this commander. I didn't feel like it was as overwhelming as I thought it would be from the abilities. The Kv-1 wasnt particularly dangerous, my vet 2 stug and an ATG drove it off and later killed it without problem. The one thing I will note is that dumb cannon one shot my brand new panzer 4 from full health to 0. I dont know if it was a precision shot or what but it destroyed my tank in one go. The cannon was in his base so it was indirect fire, not a direct fire AT shot. Hence why I had to fight a kv-1 with my remaining stug I dont recall seeing For the Motherland used, but I had the only munition point on kholdny ferma winter locked down most the game In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: vet 2 flamer half tracks26 Sep 2013, 01:47 AM FHT feels balanced to me. It can be very powerful if the enemy doesnt hard counter it as long as you play defensively with it... but that can be said for almost any unit in the game. If you base rush or charge to 0 at every conscript squad you see.. you will lose it. The vet system doesnt just affect FHT ofc, all units become twice as good seemingly with vet 2 and/or 3. My upgunned vet3 AC scout car actually nuked a t34 from full health to kill it from behind in a couple bursts. If anything is the issue its vet, not FHT. Also nerf kv8s In: COH2 Balance

Yeah but why would I pay 560 mp and 55 fuel 5-10 mins into the game for a pgren squad? The halftrack cant reinforce, has no vet or abilities of its own, and is just as susceptible to at nades or mines as any other light vehicles. The soviet clown car works t1 because the germans dont have a strong counter for it if the enemy plays well (read: conservatively). I dunno am I missing something? Niche uses could be running around after a t70 with shrecks in it but meh In: COH2 Gameplay
