I repeat my statement from some pages ago.
I love CAS because it offers a playstyle that hasn't been in CoH2 before.
Sure, I have no tanks, but I usually get 2-3 Shreck PzGrens, a mortar, 1-2 MG42, 3 Grens and sometimes even a Sniper. Microed well and in good cover it is a very strong army.
JUST MY OPINION but I think many players complaining about CAS jsut complain because they can't A-move their blobs and kill everything in sight.
Move your units away from each other, seek some cover and dodge the planes. That's it.
There is no CAS ability that can't be dodged. AI strafe is pretty hard to dodge that's true.
But the AT strafe? Guys, there is smoke, you can see the airplane offmap about 2-5 seconds before it will even start shooting, your units scream something like "AIRPLAAAAANE!!!" and everything is over when you move your tanks away for some meters, which takes about one second.
Don't blob, move your units away from each other and move when you hear an airplane.
Your biggest advantage is heavy armour, use it.
Sure it can be dodged and I dodge the AT strafe 90 percent of the time, but when I don't I lose a full health medium tank in a couple of seconds. What other offmap arrives so fast and has so much killing potential? None

And lol about people saying the p47 is better than the stuka close air support. the close air support will do way more damage per strafe and has better accuracy. Compare the first strafe of both factions if you stay put. ridiciolous. After that you're probably out of the radius. first strike damage is much better than prolonged damage |
Microing the Sherman and Jackson is also very hard to do as they lack the crush ability to kill their own carcass, this leads to multiple tanks getting stuck and simply getting flanked and killed in two shots.

The mg42 originally in coh was compared to other weapons a good representation of its battlefield performance. In coh2 originally it was intially the best mg in game.
But since coh2 is full of whiners it got nerfed into the pathetic form it now resides. They went way to far with the nerfing every aspect of the gun. And now it has all the disadvantages it had as originally designed plus all the added disadvantages they added in to please the lynch mob.
So now it doesn't perform it's job well in addition to the 90 year old men they replaced the crew with. According to Soviet players the mg42 is fine now, so it's probably beating a dead horse advocating for a buff.
The only choices left are, use it and be godly with it, use it poorly, or gren spam.

My issue with USF (late) game
Everything requires more micro and none of your vehicles have the hp or gimmick abilites to survive out of bad situations:
-planting clusters of mines
-recrewing vehicles after youre done repairing
-armor on shermans and jacksons is pathetic, might not even exist at all. shrecks will always penetrate (this is probably the thing I hate most, shrecks are way too easy to use)
-Activating the amulance heal. medics out of the ambulance don't stay put
-You do not have proper mines. M20 mines are great except you will need to go lieutenant and any player worth his salt will instantly buy sweepers and check where the m20 has been. The anti vehicle mines must be placed in clusters and the outcome is purely RNG
-support weapons have no health. atguns with 4 men will get 2-3 shot by tigers, 50cals will get riflenaded to death and pack howitzers require 3 men to work. So you keep the pack howie in the back except its autofire range is ridiculously low
Riflemen veterancy is terrible, the atnade takes ages to fire resulting in way more losses than cons and grens
-You have too many useless popcap. Major takes up popcap, ambulance, I would say captain is also waste at fighting anything other than pumas
this all culminates when fighting (king) tigers. You need 2 jackson to scare of tigers. Fuel cost is comparable except you don't have any AI. so you need riflemen in front to scout to get the nice 60 range. Riflemen get 2-3 shot by tigers. The moment you do not have vision you're screwed. Granted this should never happen but Other factions have the HP or abilties to survive. Here a tiger shows up at 40 range with your 2 jackson you will most likely lose it, the speed it has over the tiger gets nullified when tigers are vet 1(blitz on heavies, another stupid idea). You can't bait it over mines when youve gone captain
Sorry for the rant but the US faction is so incomplete even when all of the tier units would be worth it
