The Soviets have more units so they have more to "give up".
Not to mention if I want better Grenadiers I need to go with a certain doctrine(Jaeger Infantry). I do not complain that the G43 upgrade or Camouflage is not available to me all the time, because I realize if I want a more effective squad I need to pick a certain doctrine.
German doctrinal units/upgrades;
Tiger
Mortar Halftrack
Artillery Officer
PzIV Command Tank
Camouflage
G43
Soviet doctrinal units;
IS-2
ISU-52
T34/85
Guards Rifles
Shock Troopers
120mm Mortar
KV-8
Conscript Repair
Hit The Dirt
Assault Package
So yeah, you will be missing out on things quite often. You have choice - what a tragedy.
And believe it or not, Soviets have more than enough tools with non-doctrinal units to fight the Germans. If you grow dependent on Doctrines to handle your enemies, that's your problem not mine. |
it's always a joy for watching how reich fanbois try every effort on the forum to twist and exaggerate the faction that he never played once.
Do ostheer needs anything to unlock the LMG42 LMG for grenadier which doubles their DPS?
Do PG comes with a doctrine unit that requires precious doctrine point to unlock?
Nope, my modest suggestion is unlock DP28 while you builds T3 or T4 building which already in the med game, compare to T1 access to LMG42 is that really game breaking?
I love the double standards from those dedicate reich fanboys~
Yeah, OK, I'm a huge fanboy. I love Hitler.
Still doesn't change the fact that I'm right.
Why do Grens have an LMG42? Because they gain defensive bonuses with Veterancy and they need the damage to scale into late game.
Conscripts scale into late game with Oorah and Merge.
Penal Battalions are also not tied to doctrines. If you're so desperately in need for elite infantry, use a doctrine. Simple as that. You want every option available to you no matter what you do? No? Then deal with the fact that you lose something when you pick another doctrine.
DP-28 doesn't fit on Conscripts because it can button vehicles. Not an ability they need. |
If you expect consistent support from Relic, you're gonna have a bad time.
Tbh, you can't really blame them. Things got complicated with the THQ bankruptcy, and at the end of the day Relic is a business first. Cut the costs where you can, charge for extra things here and there, and hope you're still running in a year's time.
CoH1 is just not important enough to devote budget to. It'll also force some people to move to a better supported CoH2. |
Attacking a base was a normal part of even high level play. It's no different in CoH2. |
con does need a DP-28 upgrade after soviet build T3 or T4 though....well, after the HTD nerf.
Why?
Just 'cus? "Wouldn't it be cool if..."?
If you love your Conscripts so much, use a doctrine that compliments them. If they're not important enough to you to influence your doctrine, then that's your choice.
Conscripts don't need any improvements as is. Putting a DP-28 on them just overshadows Guards Rifles massively. |
More models means more damage from AEO
Wrong
Just explained in my post why they need one, and i have no idea how can you make them a shock trooper squad with no Doctrine.
All doctrines but two have special infantry. Also, Penal Battalions.
Yes they are, just as i wrote in my post.
Wrong
Not even close, because you need to Research the ability and it costs 10 ammo more then panzerfaust, plus 5 for the Oorah if you like the synergy making it cost double, 40 ammo per grenade for the same damage. Animation is the same, 3 seconds.
You need to research it every time you use it? That's new.
Just explained that you can have ALL Phases researched AND ALL buildings built for Germans for less cost Fuel vise that it takes for Soviet to build 2 of 4 their Buildings
We need to max out our tech levels to play games? That's new.
Penal Batalion also comes in the same tier than Grenadiers and it does absolutely the same
Wrong. Penals have a slightly lower damage output than PzGrens with more durability than Grenadiers. |
You mean when you get damage from the molotov? Please elaborate.
Auto-cover system. You click for your units to move, they'll dive for cover and due to the fact Molotovs are DoT AoE, they'll usually kill themselves diving into fire, or not moving fast enough to avoid it.
Also, the standard net code issues that lead to about a one second delay in pretty much every multiplayer match. The benefits of Peer 2 Peer. |
Penals are great, they're just horribly overshadowed by how cost efficient Conscripts are. They put out nearly the same damage as PzGrens with more models and more abilities(They still do have the fire-on-the-move accuracy penalty, unlike PzGrens). They're just much more focused on handling infantry, which is probably why they're not used so much. They have no soft-AV which means that there's no point spamming them when the German is bringing out tanks.

210 MP for Conscripts?
This thread's a joke.
The "objective" analysis is frankly, wrong.
Conscripts do ~50% more raw damage than Grens.
Conscripts have more models than Grens, making them more resiliant to area of effect.
Conscripts have Oorah and Merge so they don't need a non-doctrinal upgrade when you can make them a Shock Trooper squad.
Molotov != Rifle Grenades
AT Grenades > Panzerfuast due to Oorah synergy + Shorter animation and less chance of disruption
Your near/far DPS values don't account for accuracy, cover, or abilities.
The LMG42 can only fire when stationary
3/7 Soviet doctrines have upgrades for Conscripts. If they matter so much to you, use those. And in 6/7 doctrines you can take advantage of the Conscript's abilities to Merge with doctrinal units like Guards Rifles and Shocks, to lower reinforcement costs.
Germans start with less fuel, need to buy their Tiers AND build their buildings, which is why some Soviet buildings are more expensive because they don't have supplemental costs. Fuel is also required at the start of the game to build Grenadiers. So Germans start off with an effective 10 fuel, need 25 to tech up, and 25 to build a Light Mech. Company. It actually costs Germans MORE to tech up in the early game. Soviets can skip tech, Germans cannot.
M3 Halftrack comes a tier earlier than the German Halftrack.
This thread, just, in general, is a joke. It's been made by someone who doesn't want to get better at the game because he doesn't know how to take advantage of unit strengths and differences. It's quite amusing, really. |
When capping points next to a building, put your squad next to the door so that if they get attacked they can jump into the building almost immediately.
Use hotkeys for everything.
A lot of people don't. |
