He flamed me and made himself look like a complete tool by posting something stupid without reading the thread first.
As I've said before, this is not an issue unique to Coh2 alone.
In saying that, I'm sure Relic's coding has an impact on this bug, otherwise we'd be seeing it in a lot more games.
As VonIvan said, wouldn't be the first time a software issue has caused a hard restart.
People need to read the thread in its entirety before they come in posting some passive aggressive bullshit.
I was being sarcastic because inverse always loves to randomly throw out slammed in the shout box.
The most likely scenario is that something in the game is interacting with your hardware in an unpleasant fashion. Seeing as this is an extremely isolated issue, at least so far, it is probably a problem with your hardware, drivers, or something else unique to your systems. If the issue were truly Relics fault the problem would almost certainly be very wide spread and easily replicable.
Plus why would any video game company every write and call a method for shutting down a user's pc... the logic just doesn't make sense. It's not Relics software plain and simple, even more proven by the fact that the issue isn't isolated to coh2.
This is a hardware issue. If you're gonna get pissed about something, at least try to know what the fuck you're talking about.
Slammed.
Although I tend to agree. Hardware or maybe driver issue?
Definitely not CoH 2's fault. Game hasn't been patched for weeks and the issue would most likely be more widespread if CoH 2 was the culprit... not to mention it'd take some seriously retarded coding for a game (or most other software for that matter) to force a PC restart unless there's some problem elsewhere on the computer.
Perhaps I am more use to companies like Blizzard being pro-active and positive about balance and their game.
Even Blizzard messes up big time. There's currently a fly hack going around for WoW (thankfully easy to track/ban), some major exploits to allow capturing of bases in rated battlegrounds uncontested just got patched after existing for nearly an entire expansion cycle. Even this PvP season patches were released with undocumented changes/hugely impactful bugs like abilities completely ignoring core game mechanics.
StarCraft II, I have to admit has an amazing team working on it. The balance was super shit in the beta but over the course of its release history the balance has been solid, and I can't remember any game-breaking exploits... I'm sure there have been one or two at some point... maybe. Only problem with SC2 is/was some of their design decisions with units like spider mines/swarm host, HoTS has been a pretty shitty expansion because of those units and their reluctance to gut them until LotV comes out.
That being said... Blizzard tends to have more stable games and quicker patch cycles, but they're also a much bigger company.
Dueling didn't make human race better, just got a lot of people killed for arguing about stupid things.
'If someone can get under your skin over internet in the game, the problem lies within you.'
I follow this philosophy
I think dueling to the death is just a little different than playing against someone in a video game ;P but your philosophy is good, pretty much how I've always felt online since hitting puberty and realized I shouldn't let trolls get under my skin. Games on the other hand... maybe I take the game itself too seriously cuz I get mad at the game sometimes.
It's not rocket science dude... Price and his goons were openly and rampantly exploiting on stream, which was featured on coh2.org. Coh2.org doesn't support or condone cheating, exploiting, hacking etc so they removed his stream. He broke the site openly broke the site rules and was reprimanded. Simple as that.
I mean... I'm not an admin so maybe I'm wrong and they can clarify but that's the impression that I'd gotten.
I totally dont like that "We´ll remove your stream from the streams list" thingy.
If there is an exploit that needs to be fixed why would you want to punish those guys who highlight the issue.
That makes zero sense and is rather counterproductive.
Because Relic already knows about the issue - there's no need to ruin automatch by abusing the exploit. They're not highlighting anything for anyone, they're just being immature pricks.
edit: @Muffin - if you do some stuff (not going to say what because I don't want to propagate it), you can create squads that move around the map at light speed (significantly faster than tanks or retreating squads), have ridiculous DPS (can kill things in about 0.5 seconds from full hp) and insanely high defensive stats. It is extraordinarily game-breaking. Go check out a replay and see what all the fuss is about.
Lol Ciez I never thought you'd ever get so mad as to actually write something like that.
gg no re, CoH2 community
I'm not even mad at Eva he's amusing in the way a child is amusing.
The few times I've been mad in CoH 2 include: Early WFA alpha Obers (you guys think they're bad now... yeaaaah), early WFA OKW faction design, and when people would build 3 of the old ISUs in a single game.
Other than that I tend to stay calm. Getting mad is bad for your health
This forum has become toxic as hell again. People calling each other noobs tot the left and right. But I think the most of us rather see you fight it out instead of writing it out. I think we should have a thread were we can challenge each other. The game, depending on how toxic the conditions is for it, should then be casted to let everyone know who is the real noob. I think this would make an exellent drama and make the forum less toxic.
"I've asked you numerous times but you always pussy out like the little bitch that you are. You know you've dodged me at least 7 times, lost to me countless times and can never point to a replay of beating me despite constant claims of being better than me. What can I say, haters gonna hate, ainters gonna aint.
You're forever cursed to be a moron and a trash tier player. Get used to it and learn your place.
If you want to play I'm free any time after work tomorrow. I work from 8 to 430 est and should be home no later than 530 est. Tonight I'm watching the national championship game with friends and family. You know how to get in touch with me if you want to play. In fact I think we should put some money in the line to make things interesting. $250 per person per team? But... I'm wasting my time even typing this, you don't have the balls to play me straight up."
I would like to see this game. And 250 dollars on the board would make the game even more interesting. And maybe someone could cast it for us to see who the noob is.
Would you like to see this game?
And should the noobcallers fight it out in coh2 instead of here?
P.s dont challenge me. I admit my nooobness.
I'm still betting that Eva isn't going to man up and accept the challenge. I'll stream the games (internet willing) and happily upload the replays for anyone to cast and all to view.
I actually think Evalance has a man-crush on me or something though. Even when I leave him alone and ignore him he can't stop talking about me and RtN. Kind of cute/flattering really.
Oh, and for anyone who might not know me or realize... I try only to be toxic towards people the deserve it. In Eva's case, I have no regrets. The way he treats people is pathetic... the guy has some serious mental/emotional issues he needs to deal with.
Edit: It'd actually be $1,000 on the line. Eva wants a 2v2, $250 per person per team is $1,000 - with the winning team effectively gaining $250 each (since they'd obviously get their own $250 investment back). Oh and FaHu was calling Eva out for being toxic. I actually FaHu because he's awesome.
