We've haven't had time to say whether Improved Fortifications are OP or not, but I've seen enough to know that they're working well. Today I started assaulting one with a P4 and Tiger, a pair of paks and assorted infantry. The Bofors was supported by a 17lber and mortar pits, but I focused on the Bofors expecting to allow my infantry in. By the time the Bofors took ten percent damage I had to back my tanks out under smoke. It braced as we dropped a Stuka bomb directly on it. It appeared to sustain no damage at all. I then moved in my infantry and despite having some shreks and reclaimed bazookas wasn't able to do any significant damage. It came out of brace and forced my infantry away. Anyone developed any good methods for dealing with fortification and braced sim cities? This occured in a 4v4 and ignoring the city was not an option due to the fact that it straddled a VP and fuel.
CoH2 rarely uses that much Vram though. Using MSI afterburner usually shows under 2gb (iirc) during most games, regardless of game size.
It was definitely all those streamer and other services with the nvidia install for me. There's at least two others in this thread who said they suffered from the same issue I strongly recommend they disable those and report back.
CPU and GPU temps? Very high on either could cause pretty massive FPS drops.
Also, unlikely, but HDD usage? Just open up resource monitor and check disk usage while in-game. Its very unlikely, but the one time I was doing disk-intensive stuff while in-game it caused pretty massive lag spikes.
Thanks. Off to bed now but I will try resource monitor tomorrow.
If you can gather some data, that would also help a lot.
Please open Task Manager before you launch the game. Press alt-enter when the performance issues happens and screenshot both the Processes and the Performance tabs in Task Manager for us.
You can also use GPU-Z or Process Explorer to view what your video card is doing. The links and instructions are in my guide. Just use Ctrl+F to find them.
Are you running any flash programs like Twitch.tv in the background on your browser? I've noticed watching streams alone eats my CPU like 30 % and causes a lot lower fps. Try to validate your steam files or reinstall your GPU drivers?
No other programs open except for steam and ventrilo. I've also checked for viruses and such and see nothing.
Anyone else suddenly experiencing serious performance issues? Prior to last Friday I ran the game fine. I mean I have a GTX 970 and have everything on the very lowest settings and physics off and it still is chugging. No other games are giving me any issues. I tried reinstalling COH2 and that didn't fix the issue. Any help appreciated!
DickJohnson plays 4v4s, always partysons and runs amok with them. It's amazing. Ost will start spamming snipers because everyone else is UKF, and DJ's party boys melt them. Any tank encounter ends with shrek party sons popping out in the Axis vehicle's retreat path.
