You still going Guderian? I am interested how many people moved over. |
I do not know about these supposed veterancy changes but if it is anything like before then you can never beat anyone decent as Brits (if they are playing Wehr). There is a reason why they were never used in tournaments!
The advice given above is decent but at the end of the day you have to accept that anyone good as Wehr will beat you. |

Just wanted to say thank you for everything. You were the most educational casting duo of any game I know, and really enjoyable too. I will fondly remember watching all your videos again to snag myself a Beta key!
Thank you Tommy, thank you Fatal Saint, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. |
I understand what you are saying and I respect that view, but such an attitude does not allow any comparisons. E.g You say it is good because of what it 'makes' but you can never prove that and so are dependant on me seeing it (which incidentally I do in this example).
Thus the only way we can talk about music accurately is technicality, it is the only part of music that can be truly scrutinised. I agree with you that ultimately what matters is 'feel' but there is nothing to say on that matter, so why talk about it?
Finally I feel like I should point out, that whilst I admire your distaste for music communities (as I do) you should note that you probably do not practice the method you are advocating. I.E. I very much doubt that you do not judge some music as 'bad' (Taylor Swift for instance?), even though by your own reckoning you have no way to do so.
But anyway I feel like I have inadvertently brought on a discussion and thus hijacked the thread, so I am not going to post on here anymore. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk about it further, I am interested in what you have to say.
Take care,
TinGod

I am fan of his as well but if you think that he is 'drummier' than Carter Beauford then you are probably not better than me. (Oh and frankly Gavin Harrison has never played anything better than 'CAFO', not saying he is worse than that guy, just saying...) |
I am prepared to believe it, but how do you know? |
As a drummer I really hope all that Travis Barker stuff was in jest. He was playing at literally a grade 2 level. For those who are interested, this is what good drumming looks like...

No, I agree I do not think it matters. I was merely questioning the view suggested earlier in the thread that 'girls do not get the game'. |
My girlfriend plays COH, she is a lvl 10 player. She is also a fan of Heroes Of Might and Magic III, I think everyone loves that game.
There are probably more women playing the game than people think, they just do not feel the need to reveal themselves.
To omgstoon: I think you will find that having your gf play games with you is something of a double edged sword, so I would be careful what you wished for. On the other hand some kind of acceptance/interest is nice. |
I pre-ordered the game because even if it got rubbish reviews, I would have still bought it.
I suppose you could also argue if you are a big enough fan, the chances of you not liking the game are almost non existent (so you might as well pre-order). When I was younger I used to buy every Tekken game, simply because I loved Tekken and in spite of the fact that both reviewers and myself saw Tekken 3 as the franchises peak. As foolish as this was in some ways, I fundamentally liked all the games because I did like Tekken.
On the other hand I am aware that such loyalty to gaming franchises is somewhat illogical. So in answer to your second question, no I do not think it is good for us. One can still wait for the reviews though, so it is not as if the choice is not there.
In conclusion then, one should avoid pre-ordering and wait for the reviews except in cases where one would not care what the reviews say anyway (being honest), in which case pre ordering is the way to go!
PS. I greatly enjoy your shoutcasts 50CALBarrett, wish you would do more. |
