Thread: Soviet AT help needed8 Jun 2013, 18:11 PM Well, the hassles I've mostly been having are against the AI. Lame, I know, but I want to get at least basically familiar with the game before I lose terribly. Did play 1 2v2 and I was the weaker of the two partners and we got completely steamrolled. I was hopeless, could not hold a point to save my life against ze Germans. Any road, have played a few games as Ostheer against teh AI, and it's immediately more familiar to me (fave faction was Germans in vCoH). Completely rinsed the AI, a few times. It just seemed...easier. Was focussing on Soviets because it was a 'new' faction. I guess I just need to get out there and play 1v1s and stop wussing about In: Red Army Strategies
Thread: CoH 2 Preorder 25% Off7 Jun 2013, 14:47 PM Out of interest - I went for the GMG version - when I put the key in, I presume it will ask me to re-download CoH2, meaning I will lose all progress. Does this sound correct? In: Lobby
Thread: Sick of Russians7 Jun 2013, 10:16 AM From recent replays, the T34 ram isn't the 'I win' button it was. For instance, you need to hit the tank with the turret facing you to damage the gun I think (so the target should 'attack ground' 90 degrees off for example), and it is still possible to reverse the tank out of harms way to repair it once it's been hit. (With a Panther at any rate). So: if Soviet player has rammed you with a T34 and has another T34 around and/or AT grenades/Zis, the you're most likely finished. If the Ostheer player has tank support around to prevent that, and has spotted the ram, then he's got a chance of making it out too. The soviets don't have a lot of choices to counter German armour, so I think it should stay as it is. Maybe tone it down a bit, but not a great deal. It is a bit of a last ditch perhaps anyway. Thread: Requirement for streaming CoH2 in extreme quality?6 Jun 2013, 10:24 AM I was going to upgrade to the 3570 - but the haswell's have just come out. The system worked out (for the Z87 and the 4670K) about 20 GBP more expensive, so I went for that one. I know everyone's banging on about the Haswell arch. not being worth it, but I'm coming from a Q6600. Which should also stop the sarcastic comments about me playing CoH2 on a 'potato' in 2v2s In: Lobby

Has to be said if there's not a fire in the immediate vicinty, or a building, then it's retreat every time, even if it does mean losing the point. Incidentally - has anyone used attack ground with a flame unit to set fire to trees or similar and then get them next to it? Seems as though it would be a faster, albeit more temporary, solution to building a fire. ...and completely OT, I've noticed flamer packs being dropped in the latest version. Is this a change?
