So Assgrens at T0/CP0 are a problem, but PPSH Cons at T0/CP0, wouldnt be?
Nullist, champion of the Axis to the rescue! That comparison is completely flawed, but I've come to expect nothing less. Did you forget the fact that Conscripts get 2 PPSH for 20 muni, instead of 5 for zero muni? Or do you just omit info like that when its not convenient for you to mention it?
1. Switch oorah with PPSH. Oorah is now doctrinal, PPSH is not. When PPSH is fired while standing it takes the shorter bursts that they currently do, however if you are using HTD with PPSH then they will take more sustained bursts similar to BARs in vcoh. This would make actually make conscripts a viable infantry killing machine, but flanking would require better timing and positioning since you won't always have access to oorah.
2. Reduce the burn radius and burn duration of molotov. Now most of its damage is done on contact with a very light burn over time. Now it functions more like a traditional grenade with a chance of shock value rather than just area denial. Also now you can dodge and re-enter cover/buildings since the burn duration would be very short.
*And yes MG42 needs to be buffed back to its non useless state, and now we have a early game that somewhat resembles vcoh.
Right now Gren heavy play just stomps the shit out of Conscripts. You are forced to tech to combat a game opening 240mp unit if they are using LMGs. If you backtech you are very susceptible to getting FHT rushed, and the Gren blob is usually sufficient to deny the map control needed to get a fast T70 if done correctly.
The problem is
A) Grens get Rnade and Faust automatically through teching, the Russian equivalents delays your teching
B) Rifle nade has a very fast trajectory, and paired with the input lag can be difficult to dodge since there really isn't any indication that he will shoot one until the animation is already started. On the other hand, when a conscript charges close range it is already obvious he is going to use one before the long wind up even begins. Even IF the molotov isn't dodged, usually you can just walk out of it and take minimal damage since it only does very inconsistent DOT rather than all damage instantly dealt on contact. German anti infantry grenade comes free, Russians need to spend fuel just for area denial.
C) Grens get LMG which is non doctrinal and is superior to doctrinal PPSH
D) Very early LMG upgrades and/or rifle nades mean that Grens vet up much faster.
The vehicle balance has gotten better with every patch, but the infantry balance has been all over the fucking place. At first it was Maxim and HTD OP as hell, then MG42 insta suppress, then Soviet sniper spam, and now MG42 has been made terrible but its hardly even a requirement this patch.
Now its Gren spam every single game. Since the Sniper 50% RoF nerf there is no good answer to it. PPSH is doctrinal and still gets outmatched, Shocks are doctrinal and not cost effective. Your best chance is to get a fast T70, but if the German plays it correctly you won't have enough fuel to make it a true shock unit and his P4 hits very soon after. Its mainly due to a combination of vet 2 gren durability buff being far too much and the fact that Soviets need to spend extra fuel to get the same upgrades (AT and molotov) that the German gets naturally through teching, among other things.
It's a room clearing tactical indie game. Kinda like Xcom, kinda like Rainbow Six. Really fun, and I think there is or soon will be custom of campaigns with a lot of random variables.
There is a difference between just bashing the game and criticizing it so that hopefully it will be improved. That said I'm not interested in continuing playing with the current DLC commander model. Just over 3 months ago I paid $100, I'm not going to spend more to continue playing. Sure you don't need to buy the newer commanders, but this is a strategy game we are talking about and when a good portion of players (that probably have less total money invested in the game) have more units and abilities its a terrible model both competitively and ethically.
