If you care about the aesthetic, Ost caps at 1943, so they don't get IR STGs. In no situation is giving out IR STGs to Ost actually a good idea. It's not an excuse, it is expliciy how Ost have been designed as per the game's developers. If you want stormtrooper buffs you can argue for them, but it'll be the G43 that gets them. Well then i suppose you wouldn't mind removing stg44 from pg's since it did not become standard issue equipment for pg's till 1944. Brits were designed by the devs to be this static faction with OP emplacements that does everything. Oh.. were are they now. It's not meant to be a normal doctrine, more of an ultra specialized one to fulfill a specific purpose. I personally would rather see the B4 in the doctrine than the ML-20 for thematic purposes, but it is not really necessary. TBH it does have a vet1 one shot Tank ability so it would be perfect. Not by default, anyway. The G43s come from the Jaeger Light Infantry ability, which gives Grens and PGrens the ability to upgrade with G43 rifles. They gave Stormtroopers the ability to equip them too because why not, but it's like putting BARs on a Ranger squad. The intention is that you upgrade MP40s instead. it's an ability flag m8, The ability itself doesn't specify that storms should get g43's but the g43's upgrade checks weather this flag is true or not. If abilities would strictly give upgrades then veteran squad leaders pg's would also get 5 men (which they don't). That's a poor understanding on your part on how the doctrinal upgrade mechanic works. All i'm asking is to change the g43 upgrade ability to IR stg upgrade ability. In: COH2 Gameplay

Stormtroopers ehh... don't you think the elite assault troops of the wehrmacht would be using this. Dude the g43 basically gives great moving combat potential and cqc damage. But mp40's are far better for cqc why would you pay munis for a downgrade and ir stg serves the same purpose great moving combat potental and high cqc damage which are better than g43's. And we can make the whole upgrade cost 100/120 munis if coming in at 2cp is a bit too much (also maybe mp40 upgrade locks this out and vice versa ir stg storms + mp40 will surely make them the strongest cqc infantry and we can't have that cus only allies deserve to fuck infantry at every situation). Now i get it this might make them op. But OKW have Obers who are stronger and the commander they get it from is also has a tiger so I don't see why not. And i'm sure the balance team can make necessary changes to make it balanced. In: COH2 Gameplay

I'm pretty sure that hull down gives both panthers and stugs more than 60 range (62.5 maybe) + received damage bonus. Pretty absurd this is an actual starting unit but I'm sure we can all give up on this thing ever changing. The thing gets to be as cheap as any MG, better than any other MG, and available before any other MG at the same time. It pins better than a USF flak HT, it kills light vehicles in one AP round burst. Is it bad that it preforms so well? No, not necessarily. Should it preform this well and be so inexpensive AND be available right off the bat? Hell no, not from what I've seen. I'm surprised we don't hear more complaints about this especially given the inordinate amount of crying about the Soviet Maxim which isn't nearly as good as the MG42 (even though it costs the same) and requires a specific tech to unlock. It's not going to ever change I realize that but I'd like to know the justification for this being a starting unit. It seems to me like it should be part of the same tech tree that the other support weapons are in like the mortar and sniper and Grens should be the starting unit. Because morons like you go "oh no ..asymmetric balance and shit we can't have grens coming out of t0, ost must have it that way" it's like that cus of axis fanboys and nothing else. In: COH2 Balance
