Thread: What do you think of an SU-85 buff?24 Oct 2014, 16:53 PM The unit is more or less fine if utilized correctly. Underperforming slightly, but there are a ton of units out there that are off alot worse right now. I'd suggest a frontal armour buff, just enough to deflect shrecks at max range and a slight accuracy buff. Anything beyond that would just go overboard and result in vicious su85 spam again. Dont wanna go back to those days. The problem I see with the Su85 right now is really not that the unit is bad. Its just that with the Jackson and a more or less more potent(than it was a few months back) t-34, the Su85 sees alot less action cause ppl tend to prefer turreted tanks for flanking and other stuff. Plus the shreck blocks make it kinda hard for the Su85 to survive very long, especially lategame and with the wonky pathing at times. But this is not really a problem with the unit itself. Its much rather a faction design problem or other units overperforming, especially in team games(where as they might be 100% fine in 1v1 and even 2v2). Giving the su85 more range, like suggested by ciez, would just turn it into an "elefant light" for the soviets. Dont need more 3454434 range tanks in the game. Especially now that they kinda nerfed the isu and jagd. No need to add a new one to the list. In: COH2 Balance

The engine of the game struggles to run on high spec single monitor machines, let a lone multi monitor. The engine needs to be optimised a lot more and support needs to be added for SLI/multi GPU first before it can be really considered properly. I am sure it does work as it is, but only really as a bodge. IMHO multi monitor is useful for stuff such as game on 1 monitor, then iTunes, steaming etc on other monitors. At least that way, the performance shouldn't be affected that much, so in theory the game should only be using 1 and the desktop/OS etc should only be using the other(s). But hey, its probably not that simple. You could probably use one of the super new GPUs like 780 ti or even the new 970/980 units to do 1 output into something like a tripplehead2GO then run the game in window mode on one monitor, and the other stuff on your other monitors. Forget the whole "super gpu" thing. I got a 970 that is not bottlenecked by either ram or cpu and still only get around 45 fps on 1440p max settings. No clue how someone is supposed to run the game on 3 monitors at the same time, even if its just 1080p. The game is unoptimized as shit. In: Lobby
Thread: Should the blitzkrieg ability cost fuel? 21 Sep 2014, 11:25 AM The fuel idea sounds nice but when you think about it a bit more it could fuck up too much. Would be alot easier to just add a bad side effect, as many had already suggested, to compensate for the fast speed. Maybe have them get an engine overheat for 5-10sec after the usage of blitz. Or, alternatively, (which I personally prefer) dont let them use blitz in a combat situation to begin with. Then there wont be a get out of jail free card, ever. Cause if you think about it, lets pretend you add a fuel cost or make it have a bad side effect. The tank will still more or less get out of jail free and then suffer the side effects or you fuck up your enemies armour, which compensates for the fuel cost. In the end, the allies will still be complaining about blitz even with changed costs or side effects and relic will go overboard with the nerf hammer again. Simply not letting you use blitz in combat wouldnt pose that problem. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Relic: Rebuff the 34/7621 Sep 2014, 11:15 AM Just make the SU85 maybe 10 fuel cheaper and give it a slightly better turn rate(Im thinking +0.5 maybe?). Right now its still pretty much almost as fast as a PIV, so I dont think that any mobility buffs except for turn rate would be very advisable. The T34/76 is fine, it just needs to scale better. When it comes out, it can dish out some damage. The problem is just that while the germans get rewarded for keeping their shit alive by getting armour skirts n stuff, the T34 kinda remains on the same level even at vet3, only marginally improving on speed and stuff. Maybe give it a vet2 bonus to get its "bugged" reload time back and at vet3 give it 100hp more or something like that. Im very sure this would already solve the problem without going overboard too much. In: COH2 Balance

The micro intensive play of the PaK lies within the fact that if you leave it in the same place for longer than 5sec youll get precision strike-fucked, by either mortars or arty. Maybe the heavens rain fire or a wild KV8 might appear from behind the bushed. Then again, it could also die to soviet snipers, a barking combat engineer or just drop dead cause it realizes just how shit it is when it comes to anything but DPS. In all seriousness though. The PaK cant keep infantry at a distance with arty, cant kill suppressed squads with arty, cant survive a single mortar shot if it lands right on top. You get flanked by just one conscript squad that focuses fire, even with grens around, and your PaK dies. It also goes down to soviet tanks too easily. T70, when not fausted or completely retarded due to pathing, easily avoids and outruns a PaK. T34 AOE is enough to decrew it, bigger tanks like KV8 and IS2 completely rape it without breaking a sweat. Yes, the Zis underperforms against heavier armour like Tigers and vet2 Panthers. No questioning that. But the PaK40 underperforms just as much vs anything that isnt a badly managed t70 or an SU85. Most other vehicles can easily outrun/avoid/kill it. You make it look like the PaK40 is some sort of wunderwaffe while the Zis is shit. Thats just not true man. Its relatively fast rof is a gods gift, but that is also due to the fact that the PaK sucks at survivability and may just aswell die to rain drops... In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Sniper Balance27 Feb 2014, 15:32 PM Why not just lock the amount of snipers youre able to have on the field to 1 per player(like with tigers in vcoh)? That will certainly help with sniper spam on both sides and balance the entire situation out on its own(except for clowncar snipers maybe, but that remains to be seen). 1 soviet snipers cant force an instant retreat but can still inflict a mp bleed on germans and force turn the tide of a battle cons vs grens or even cons vs pgrens. And while less survivable, 1 german sniper can easily turn the tide of a battle aswell by sniping an mg or causing massive mp bleed on shocks if microed well enough. Having more than 1 of those units at the same time will just make the game ridiculous. That is the case for both factions. And while this is less true for the german sniper than the russian one, due to survivability and the soviets massive AI capabilities, its still true on both sides to a certain degree. Just limiting it to 1 per player will work wonders. In: COH2 Balance
