Thread: OKW "grand offensive" game breaking?23 Mar 2019, 15:00 PM On top of them being a bit too cheap it seemed like an oversight to leave pfusis AT grenades unlocked. It made sense when they were 2cp but now OKW has AT nades + raketen all without teching. Suddenly the one weak point of OKW has shifted to having best starting AT options of all factions. I also think teller mines are too strong for OKW. Ost doesn't have that strong of a light vehicle base so that might be more inline with the defensive nature of the faction. OKW having dominant vehicles + 50 muni mine that can knock out a 380mp 75fuel investment would be enough to win 1v1 games on its own. I know it takes 170 muni combined to plant it but it creates a huge imbalance on how mobile ones armies can be in a game. It feels like the designers are double stacking okw abilities as per overwatch commander. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: British - Lend Lease Assault - Feedback21 Mar 2019, 16:32 PM With no arty this is a bit of an odd commander. I think assault sections should be more similar to assault package for OKW (sappers should be given an option to upgrade flamers as well) to round up an urban assault theme. One big downside is having the choice exclusive with med packs so now you have to juggle the sections a lot to heal. Mortar and half-track are OK, but you are spending 2 commander slots on things that are standard for other factions. Smoke raid is a bit strange of a choice since now you have access to mobile mortars with smoke so it feels redundant. M10 is not bad, although it's not that much cheaper than a Cromwell to justify using it since neither can reliably kill the P4 which is the most trouble to brits anyway. Would rather have M36 to replace the glass cannon - firefly. As per gameplay feedback I encountered a bug where infantry sections would cost 350mp to make. Haven't tested if this is only a tooltip error. Overall the commander seems fun to play and hinges on the usefulness of the IS upgrade. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Poll: is the Ostwind underpowered?18 Mar 2019, 18:23 PM I think buffing Ostwind from 1v1 perspective would make it too strong of a shock unit (mind you that's not the default doctrine for Ost). Presuming there are only AT guns on the field (witch is a reasonable way to play) having a fast-strong Ostwind would have a reasonable chance to wipe those AT guns and consequently the remaining force off the field before the opponent can mount their medium tanks. What people comparing it to the centaur are forgetting is the speed of aforementioned unit. Centaur is very slow and is unlikely to navigate and flank at gun/panzerfaust wall that is put up by the enemy. The current use of the Ostwind (mobile suppression platform when combined with a intel bulletin) is inline whit what should be expected of the vehicle. It wont win you games on its own and nor should it. Having a bulletin in your load out telegraphs your intentions (I would say this game should be easier to read regarding shock tactics) and gives a heads-up. Combined with p4 (witch are definitely on the strong side of AI units) buffed Ostwinds would make for a insanely cost effective A-move cheese. TLDR: Shock Ostwind is not what this game needs.. Their tanks have the best frontal armour and their infantry are the best for just running and gunning. So if you are also just running at the cap as well, they are gonna win every time, it's what they're designed for. Once you start playing smarter they kinda of fall apart due to their flaws. This is the thing I was trying to highlight - it's very much in the hands of the allies to have to outplay OKW. All other things being equal axis come out on top. They can throw well trading units at you and wait for the late-game powerhouse. In: COH2 Balance

Strongest starting unit Infantry that doesn't require to research weapons/nades (gets them from basic teching) Being able to upgrade some infantry weapons in hostile territory Infantry not dropping AI weapons on low models/wipes Unique vet system Most secure base structure defense that negates light vehicle base-rush T0 raketen and AT options for almost all infantry later on (shrecks, fausts) KT without using up a commander slot and no way to deny it by destroying the tech structures Elite infantry (obers) without using up a commander slot Overwatch doctrine with double abilities Free AA building with teching that outranges infantry vision Is there an aspect where they get the short end of the stick? With strong generalist and specialist tanks and probably the best mobile artillery in the game they seem like a very low risk high reward faction. My guess is that some of the things were balanced around not having a sniper (although having the option of one of the best anti sniper units in the form of JLI) but once snipers have been nerfed this faction was never adjusted. I know people feel passionate about the faction they play but whats your honest opinion about this? In: COH2 Balance
