Can I just ask something about A soldiers idea on brits quickly? because I love this idea and it sounds like most of the other brit players do to, but I want to ask about the assault infantry sections
Now the idea is to have a IS squad armed with Thompsons, which is exactly what I would want, but looking at what they did with cavalry riflemen I don't want them to become an IS squad with Sten guns, and you need to upgrade to Thompsons, that imo beats the whole point of them, if that was going to be the case I'd much rather an assault package upgrade on normal IS squads giving them 2/3 Thompsons and the WP grenade |
Dont change the E8, rather:
Change the sprint so that it doesn't have a stupid debut after it and costs more to use then the sprint that okw and wehr get (with some okw units getting sprint with vet)
Change the flares so there not as expensive, because with a muni heavy faction I would much rather spend it on BARs or the WP barrage, or even replace it with rifle defence as the commander is based around rifles
If you make those two ability better I would use rifle company a lot more, as otherwise you get it JUST for the flamethrowers and E8, with now because of a much better armour company is pointless |
For the USF Anti Tank Doctrine purposed bye LoopDloop can I just say some things on it cause I really like it:
1. maybe the I&R pathfinders besides normal one? Either would be cool but these ones would suit the commander a little more with the ability to try knock out tanks and call an arty strike down on them, not nessacery but could be cool!
2. USF has two types of mines, It has the mines that support paras and riflemen can put down with riflemen defence (so a normal mine thats still good) or theres the Anti Tank mine that the M20 can place down, I think the M20 mine would be good for this commander as it gives a bit more access to this mine and it IS Anti Tank, but the paras should keep the normal mine as being able to drop behind the line and place could be a little op
3. IMO the allied supply run would be far better then a single rocket pass with a p47, something USF is always lacking is muni and you could make it exactly the same as the Russian supply drop but muni rather then fuel (obviously it would cost either manpower or fuel instead) or worst case scenario you could just give it the loiter on thats in airborne, as it would still fit the them but I'd rather this one |
The strategic bombing on that commander is four bombers (3 light and one heavy) and it takes about 15/20 seconds for the to arrive, with about 4 seconds between each bomber, so in all its one more bomber then the bright one, takes a lot longer to have an effect and will probably cost more as well (isn't it 300 muni over the brit 250?)
I mean fire bombing would be cooler and fit the commander more but I font think the bombing would be OP |
Can I just ask if people use abilities from other commanders in the new one, can we make sure they work?
Just seeing with the brit one the one people seem to like the most has hold the line, which sounds good but it still almost never effects sectors, or doesn't effect the sector you want it to |
Because we need to reuse existing models.
There is a similar case in OKW thread, too. A lot of OKW players want Ost's Pak 40.
I understand in part but what about the models/abilities in the game that aren't in a commander?
Flamethrower pgrens, recon infantry sections, heinkel HE 111 bombing to name a few |
Can I just say its funny how many of the British ones want USF weapons and tanks like the m10 and Stuart |
Faction + Commander Name: UKF Allied Assault
Theme: Tally Ho! Britain has been defended, we have driven the cursed jerry's out of africa and its time to truly take the fight to them! Thanks to support from are American allies and British thinking we are ready to advance upon any german defence and smash it aside, For king and country lads!
Unit and Ability Roster
Slot 1 - 3 inch mortar team
Use this as mobile indirect fire support against those filthy mg teams the germans have set up everywhere! Obviously less range then the mortar pit and average mortar and I would say a tighter AOE because its smaller than the other mortar teams, countered by a smaller minimum range and fastish ROF
Slot 2 - Thompson upgrade
The Americans have been kind enough to lend us some of there Thompson sub machine, equip your infantry sections with three of these to provide more mobile fire power and the ability to close in on your enemy! (So I did find a problem lmao, I did want to do two bar rifles to start with but after testing them I found that they were rather sub par on IS, to the point that the Bren was the better choice and would probably cost less, if you can find a way for BARs to work devs please feel free to change it but this seems like it'll be better for cqc assault combat)
Slot 3 - Early warning flares
Same used in the british royal artillery regiment, I was playing around what to add next to this commander and a recon of some kind would be of help, This is a cheap option, which isnt too effective to try and balance out the commander a little so that you still get a recon, even if it is a little weak
Slot 4 - M10 "Achilles" Tank Destroyer
A cheaper, more mobile TD then the firefly, with less destructive fire power, you’d also get it earlier then the firefly, did get this idea from another commander proposal because I thought it was a great idea
Slot 5 - Precision Artillery
Same one used in the Advanced emplacements, would be a good add to destroy heavy defences and fits with the commander, plus its a good ability I hardly see use
Strategies and Rational
Something the british lack in areas is a more mobile style of game play, while you can get this in a sense from commandos, they are expensive and specialized in close quarter, hit and run tactics. Giving your Infantry sections a better way to deal with units up close, and mobile fire support seems like a great way to fill this role, you can recon where the enemy is, assault their position with your more mid range focused tommies and use the mortar/precision arty to take out big threats, the m10 can provide AT support against early and mid game tanks but still leave you needing to get the firefly eventually to counter heavy tanks like the panther/tiger/King tiger
Additional Context
The british used all types of weapons from the Americans, so this is all within the realm of possibility |
