Consider light vehicles though. If a puma makes it to a katyusha, it will destroy it in one shot plus a burst from the coaxial MG. It has a decent chance of escaping unpunished since the allies have little time to react. If a stuart makes it to a stuka, it will have to shoot it four times, I think? Someone should correct me if I'm wrong. It's definitely a lot more than one time. This gives axis supporting units a lot more time to react. The stuka may or may not survive, the stuart almost certainly won't. |
Yes but it also has incredible range and sits often very safe deep behind Allied lines, The Stuka, not as much.
Also economically the Stuka has far more opportunity cost than the Priest does. Especially since OKW cannot build caches to modify income and to convert comes at a great cost of whatever resource is being converted.
Both very valid points, but generally a panther or puma can successfully take out a priest on a flanking attempt a lot more easily than allied medium armor short of T-34/85s, at least in my experience. Smoke or blitz certainly help a lot with this as well. |

I looked at your page there, I don't necessarily agree with changing the Stuka's barrage pattern into a circle. It was designed with the intent of a creeping barrage in this game, and I don't see any sense in changing it now. Especially since all strafing runs were changed to be comparable.
The suggestions are just suggestions. Whether relic or a mod maker chooses to incorporate zero, one, or more is up to them. They are not intended to all be implemented simultaneously, they just offer multiple avenues of thought. For example a different barrage shape might be chosen instead of a health reduction, for whatever reason.
As for its HP, I don't really see what the problem with its HP is, it's an armored halftrack right? It only takes 2-3 shots of a Bazooka or two shots of a tank to kill it. Or One-shot from an ISU-152 right?
I think it is fair considering the very significant manpower and fuel investment OKW player needs to acquire and use such a potent piece of equipment. Though I guess if vet changes are made it could be considered.
The priest has similar durability to the stuka but horrible mobility. Its counterparts the panzerwerfer and katyusha by comparison are much more fragile. I would certainly not want to see either of those units receive a health buff since it's very important for it to be possible to hunt and destroy them with light or medium AT to mitigate the immense threat they pose. Well, the katyusha anyway. So it makes more sense to reduce the stuka's health to make a flank with a stuart or T-70 more rewarding for example.

Again, I could be wrong but I think vet gained is proportional to the ratio of damage inflicted to the inflicting unit's health. Regardless of implementation details, both changes would be good.

well i am fuckin sick of having to plead for buffs or nerfs without the damn axis lobby coming in and telling everyone that Axis equipment is superior to everything.

if some allied tank let alone unit, is equal to an axis counterpart it is deemed "imbalanced" and not asymmetrically balanced. you can't keep looking at fucking units in a vacuum and nerfing/buffing them without thinking about the consequences it may have.
Well, please educate me then. What axis unit is the B4 equal to? What will be the unintended consequences of changing or reducing the B4's vet bonuses? |
Not that I disagree with you but ISU, JT, Kat, Stuka are all guilty of that.
Why single out the B4 with all of those things listed.
Nobody is singling anything out. Almost all of those units have threads and cards on the issue tracker.
I don't feel kat or stuka is OP, But JT and ISU is a little over the top to say the least.
ISU's problems are compounded with Mark target.
The JT has highest range and can shoot though all terrain and 1-2 punch a tank with its ability.
Sorry for the tangent but at the end of the day, B4 stands currently as a good option for KT,TA,JT and it should stay that way.
Of course it should, but currently at vet 3 it's just slightly too good of an option. I don't think changing its vet 3 bonus is too much to ask.
We gotta look at the game as a whole to tone down the squad wiping and in JT's case tank erasing.
