About 5-7 second of sounds of howitzer firing off in the distance. yes, you can remove the smoke and keep the audio cue in the game. it is not silent You may have misunderstood how I phrased my comment , : "Atleast with rocket arty you get a LOUD announcing noise." I said this to compare the screams / zooms of rockets against the faint and distant off map arty. Hope I get my point accross Even quiet noise still dosent justify a rather powerful ability having no marker smoke. In: COH2 Balance

It is nowhere as strong as the typical doctrinal off map. The shells are weakers, there are less of them, and they arrive sequentially with longer pause between them. Dosent justify it being invisible imo , could still spoil somebodies day. Atleast with rocket arty you get a LOUD announcing noise. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: State of USF artillery6 May 2018, 16:14 PM From my limited play in USF - I didt find the mortars bad tbh , they do their job well. Mortar half track ( doctrinal ) has been a fave of mine for awhile , scales quite well too till it gets pushed by Axis armour. Pack howitzer I never use.. when I played axis I saw that thing as a wanna be LeiG and abit of a meme. M8 is good , godly auto fire , barrage left alot to be desired. Priest is good too , good range and splash. Probs best self propelled arty tbh. Lets just vrush the calliope under the rug and not talk about it Removing smoke from major strike would make it godly for wiping and be OP as hell. Anything off map needs marker , atleast give the sturmpio blob a chance. In: COH2 Balance
