As much as I believe that OH is already too good in it's vehicles department in comparison with other factions, I think adding suppression is actually a good idea. Game mechanics should be universal and such universal mechanic is "AA provides suppression". However, it is more complex than that, since mobile suppression mostly falls into category of glass-cannons, so tweaking ostwind would require changing centaur as well, and, probably other vehicles in all factions. As for me - Soviets and OH required major rework the moment western front armies were released and now it is a little to late for something major. Ostwind right now is in a place, that is not great, not terrible
I am not biased towards anything. I like OKW, I like USF, I'm ok with UKF, I hate Soviets, I'm ok with OST... and I will say this, Axis players complain more about every unit the allies have. Allies usually complain about heavy tanks and tanks in general but Axis players are asking for nerfs to pretty much every single unit USF has.
How major connecting with racks? You can't buy weapons from major. You buy are only from base.
This! With upgradable weapons after major hits the field you won't have any necessity to retreat to the base, unless your major is compromised. This is to much in the game, where everyone should retreat to a static point. So, once again, no problem here, everything works just as it should.
This is a nice little feature that makes playing for USF a little bit different. Moreover, weapon racks contribute to better timing, since USF retreat point (major) is very mobile. I see no problem here.
Too much love for axis. There are two types of repair stations for allies and both are doctrinal. Why should Wehrmacht receive an undoctrinal one in addition to OKW truck? Repair building should be an option for those factions that rely on quantity over quality.
Well guys, the discussion is hot and let me add something to it. My guess is that most people are wrong saying "nerf %unit name%, it's op". The problem is not within the units but within the meta. All factions require complete rebalance.
First of all game should move away from early/mid/late-game-factions concept. This is cancer, that is killing the game, because you can always say "well, %faction name% is strong in late game, lo lets nerf early game units". Nope. It's a bad way way of balancing thing. Every fraction should be viable at any phase of the game.
Still, all factions shouldn't play the same. If US is good at infantry, maybe there should be more types of infantry units with their specific roles? Maybe if Ostheer is good at tanks, there should be an emphasis on vehicles in every phase of game?
The idea is to make factions have their strong and weak sides without a link to early/mid/late game. This unique factional feature should pass through the whole game.
I do understand, that my idea is something, that lays far from reality, but maybe instead of breaking some units from patch to patch there should be some other way to make CoH 2 better
Everything above is my humble point of view, and it is open for critique.
