When I face a sniper, I move my Riflemen away or retreat them if they get shot at by one - especially if I am capturing points. Decapping instead of capturing if the sniper is nearby, so as not to incur too much loses.
To actually deal with it, I try rushing an M20. Then try to hunt the sniper down. The blasted schmuck is hard to kill however, running away like Usain Bolt. This strategy rarely ever pays out. Then I would have to deal with 222s and sometimes I take it down and sometimes I don’t. Regardless the sniper is still there.
I am seriously reconsider going for LT to deal with a sniper. Though with the sniper present, going for the captain feels a bit like ‘so near yet so far - hurry up my boys are being picked off’.
Planting cheeky mines using Riflemen is something I’m thinking of but these things usually get stepped on by grenadiers or pioneers.
I use Airborne, Infantry and Riflemen companies. I tend to go for Infantry nowadays.
Anyways, what are addional countermeasures against snipers? |
Thank you everyone. Well its up to me now to try use advice put here.
I've read the guide Hector. Though what about Lost Glider's Capture Orders?
Do I put the first MG near the building to my HQ or the Church? Or the building near my fuel? |
Been playing UKF for a while and I have some difficulty using this faction.
Which commanders are best used in 1 v 1?
Which maps do UKF struggle in and which maps should I veto?
What are solid build orders?
The build order I usually follow and general strategies without commander selected :
IS - IS - MG - IS - Upgrade - Medic Upgrade - RE - A mine or two on roads - MG or RE -
if facing light vehicles AEC upgrade then AEC - if I have some resource surplus I go for a mortar emplacement or a medic forward position a bit inside the base.If I have a medic at the base I usually go for pyrotechnics and use those to clear garrisons or deny a vp.
Upgrade - Cromwell - AT Gun - Infantry Bolster Upgrade - Firefly or Upgrade to Hammer and then Comet
Then pray to the gods - Freestyle.
The commanders I used are the one with the Land Bed, the one with the Boys, and the one with the angry wood planes and typhoon things.
I have problems dealing with units using Assault Rifles. When they charge and get a bit close, re-positioning my infantry seem to only have a nominal effect. Always get pushed back. Garrisoning building are also a bit difficult when they hug the garrison and shoot everybody up inside.
Is it me or UKF opening is a bit slow? I have to group them together in one section of the map in the first few minutes in the fear of facing Assault Rifles. |
KV1 Heavy Tank, King Tiger, Jagdpanzer, Soviet Heavy Howitzer, Shturmovik Planes, Walking Stukas, infantry clash together in a battle of attrition.

1 v 1 - Kholodny Ferma. The resilient British Forces vs the dogged Wehrmacht.
I didn't know there was a medic upgrade in the Forward Assembly before. This is new?
So I built one in the base sector and got the medics. I like it.
I also wanted to try using the Base Howitzers more. Had some sections upgraded with Pyrotechnics.
Strapped for munitions for a while. I wanted mines, Vickers, howitzer flares. Cant get enough of the stuff.
Merry Christmas.

3 vs 3 with USF - USF - SOV vs triple Wehr. Featuring Recon Support and Mechanized Company. I forgot the rest of the commanders used.
The Greyhound at 6CP - couldn't get it out. Tanks were already out by then.
Lots of exploding things.
Hopefully you'll have fun watching. |
The might of the Wehrmacht punishes the US expeditionary force in a 1 vs 1 in Lost Glider.
Airborne Company deployed to fight Wehrmacht troops utilizing their Mechanized Assault Doctrine.

A 1 v 1 in Kholodny Ferma, USF v OKW, Airbone v Spec Ops.
As always I chose Airborne Company. I had a lot of fun with this match.
I follow Corp.Shephard's Airborne Build order with minor adjustments. Skipped the Stuart because I just suck with tanks. Mostly I go for having 2 Shermans. Because I like Shermans.
Used the P-47s, they stuck longer than I remember. Is this new or something? Anyways...
Personally I think this match shows the capabilities of Paratroopers and Pathfinders. Especially at the later stages of the game.

A 1 vs 1 in Kholodny Ferma Winter, USF vs OH.
