The way people talk about IR halftrack or valentine is as if they are some kind of god tier all seeing recon ability that stretches the entire 4vs4 map....
it's pretty situational in all honesty, I would rather have a vet 3 T-70 for that line of sight and mobility rather than the meh IR HT/Valentine. There's a reason we see them hardly built in 2vs2
I agree, vet 3 (or actually vet 2 is where it gets its sight) T-70 is busted AF for what the unit actually does.
And how would this be different from OKW map hack (cheaper, longer range, comes earlier) in combination with defense commander's LeFH or stuka?
The Sexton is a categorically bad, under performing unit in every single regard and been so since release. It needs something if its to be a useful unit and if not, it should be removed and replaced with something that is useful.
If buffing it makes the commander OP then other aspects of commander needs to be adjusted.
Well for 1, any static arty piece can be insta deleted by offmaps like IL2 bombing runs. 2nd, the IRHT can be barraged by both light and heavy arty effectivly since its a halftrack, whereas the valentine is a tank. Is the IRHT scan range larger than the valentines? I honestly don't know their ranges.
Ask yourself this, with the valentine in the same doctrine which gives free map hacks, why would you buff a mobile piece of heavy indirect. You not only would create an AIDS commander to play against and probably meta, but you would indirectly destroy infantry company from USF, as the priest would no longer be used. Why use the priest when you can get the sexton and map hacks. I like diversity too, but this doctrine has too much potential to be AFK indirect king.
Wrong, T2 has a certain unit call... Stuka! And yes it cleans houses and, incredible enough, usually force retreat!
Because building a stuka in 1v1 first vehicle is SO viable. Honestly if people think building a vehicle to counter garrisons is an appropriate counter for an entire tech decision people need to stop bleeding bias from every wound.
Doesn't have to be removed from the game, just moved off volks. Sturm are the PERFECT unit to have them, being in volks makes them a do it all unit but as someone else said them having the model 24 would make them more burst. No less threatening but different. The ability to deny cover is supremely powerful too powerful to be as plentiful as volks.
Although lowering the amount of flamenades available would be good, sturms are just relied upon too much. They're supposed to sweep, repair, be AT with pschrecks, be the close quaters assualt unit, and then you want to put the garrison clear on them as well? They also have difficulty getting past vet 2 in most games and fall off once weapon upgrades come online.
Perfect in theory because they're not spammable. In practice not so much.
I'd rather just have flamethrowers for all factions and work from there.
If something is "devastating in theory on the right map AND if you catch someone off guard" sounds like both a map and L2P issue, not a faction issue. If you nerf something in accordance to one map, the unit will get dumpstered on others.
TBH thats what USF goes through for the most part with their 25 fuel for tech and 30 muni per nade..... not saying that is shouldn't happen but its present in other factions I guess.
Did you know they added a mortar to t0 like 2 years ago? It's pretty nice.
