I didnt revive the thread, look up. If you are only considering JP4 and StuG in the formula to deal with the churchills, you should reconsider the way you are analyzing the threat. Mines and panzerfaust are the real dangerous thing for the churchill, specially how slow they are.
I know I mean you responded to the necro. I wouldn't consider mines and snares any more dangerous than other tanks. Regardless of whether or not you hit a mine or get snared, the snare threshhold is higher because of the higher HP and it is still difficult to kill a churchill with the amount of HP it has even when snared. Your opponet has a large amount of time to move other units as well as smoke. |
I've never had troubles dealing with churchills as ostheer/okw using the proper tools.
Aside from being a necro response, if you have the proper tools then yes they're more or less manageable. The problem is that these "tools" are the StuG and the JP4, which both boast RoF to deal with the large HP pool. If you get these tools they have limited use against tanks only and no turret, as opposed to what the churchill offers in AI/AT and very decent armor and large HP. I wouldn't call it the most OP unit in the game, but these kinds of units can really snowball if you get caught offguard since there are so few real counters.
One of the reasons I'm concerned about the new croc. It has the design of churchills but unlike them adds a flamer. Back before its nerf it was nearly unbeatable. |
that doesn't make sense, top players still use cons as soviets against OKW,(I do watch pro replays) people talking about flame scout car as though its a cure all are living in a dream world, its useful but not for long, its also situational, not just something you pop out as it slows the penals build and will get fausted if used with flame, as its got to get in pretty close, decent for dislodging buildings, pretty short lived usefulness, lets stop pretending tht you can control OKW blobs with less more expensive infantry, Penals do work, but not with like for like skill, they will outnumber soviets and will get the 6 minute noddy tank, you cant have had flame and upgraded a penal squad by then unless you had decent map control, which you dont get by being outnumbered, by the way PPSH cons beat STG's grens.

Can someone just post me the details for the WC51 mark target? Can't seem to find the entire info on it. How much bonus damage does it do? Cost? (Hopefully) doesn't callin a plane like the soviet one? |
If DevM plays like he did in the first quali I'd say he has the best chance here. Although I'd love to see the NA dream for VonIvan or HelpingHans to prove all the "overrated seed" people wrong.
It was almost offensive to ask who was an overrated seed here. Every player on that list deserves to be there as they are among the best and nothing less than legends of this great game. I only wish Noggano could have joined us this year. |
In his defense, if you don't know what to do as soviets you can get run over. Why would you go conscripts against OKW for example. Your mainline infantry will be inferior at minute 0 as it will be when they get StGs, and PPSHs, while good vs ostheer are not enough because of the StG DPS curve. Go penals, get m3, bully him. |

I made a post like this once. Nothing was taken from it and taken into the patch notes. More importantly is they have been very unclear about what can actually be changed here. This is a "commander revamp", yet we see balance changes like giving royal engineers snares, yet we ignore certain other OP aspects of the game. I have no idea what is even plausible for suggestions because of this. |

yeah only second to Ostheer of course? Also pz iv is basically t-34/85 more or less while being un-doctrinal. (ofc we cant have allied faction be better since its allied) And OKW/Brits lategame isnt bad either, especially OKW with best armor ingame and a better su-85/IS-2. Not to forget brits get a non-doctrinal heavy and a good TD or can tech into trash version panthers. Only gap to fill is rocket arty but oh, of course OKW gets stukas too!
I suggest learning the unit stats before saying X is better than Y. |
