yeah, imo epic games intentionally brought on tencent (and onto themselves the consequences) due to monetary factors and a change in business model with that gaming as a service thing which Tencent is pretty good at in Asia.
For an indie developer I think sometimes Epic's deal can be enticing since they offer money independent of how well the game sells (Honestly given that context, if a company feels confident that the game will sell good, Epic's deals become less enticing). I'm particularly not looking to Chivalry 2 since it just seems like a cash grab.
Edit: Also that Shenmue thing is such a shitty thing to happen, should bring them to court over that shit.
