Honestly, I'd rather use the Upgunned Sherman, it is squishier but a bit cheaper and Mechanized gives you so many fun things to work with... Why go Rifle over Mechanized if you want Shermans?
This exactly what is wrong with the Patches. They buff one unit/ability and in the next patch the new buff on units are based on the previously buff ones.
Example:
Ostheer was the benchmark and not most of their unit are left behind. E8s should not be buffed because of M4C. Both unis should be balanced in comparison with the Ostheer PzIV.
Shouldn't doctrinal units be better than stock ones?
if we talking about teamgames then if someone spam panzers in urban maps then yes this commander is awesome but in different scenerio i think this tank is decent because its not great against heavy armor or tank destroyers and not that great against infantry. Normal sherman and jackson is better combo i guess
Best commander is heavy cavalry if u want good armor
in super late 2 jacksons and pershing are great with that ability combined arms
For me e8 should get 45 range and costs something around 150 fuel that would be nice
It might be time to buff the E8 a bit, since the Upgunned Sherman is here, I love the new Mechanized so much.
LMGs combo well with the Pathfinder snipe, Paras up front and Pathdfingers behind, scouting let's you find good cover or angles to attack. Just hit them from max range, your Carbines, Cooked Grenades and Surpressive Fire can defend you from assault units, while using beacons to keep the Paratroopers in the frontlines and healthy once they self-heal at Vet2.
Jacksons weakness is that there's basically nothing bigger. It's the end of the line for usf at, and it doesn't really have anything to screen for it (shermans are too squishy). Riflemen's snare is also the slowest in the game after brits' (hue hue). This means it needs diligent support and micro just like the other TDs you mentioned.
EDIT: It also gets penned by literally anything other than small arms lol
Easiest way to explain it would be, the weakness of the Jackson is that you have to play USF.
I'm still amused anyone besides TheMachine is sad about the Jackson stopping being a Meme, it really needed the changes it got.
It's a Tank Destroyed and the premium USF AT unit, it sits where it should be, actually doing it's job.
The Mortar Halftrack is a good counter, but fighting the Wehrmacht is more about finding a weak spot in their camp and collapsing their position, some maps make this impossible and vetos are your best Friend when playing USF. Go for the flanks, smoke and you'll notice once you get a few wipes or weapon steals, it will be smooth sailing from there if you keep up in tech and counters.
Infantry definitively seems to be the way to go for USF in 2vs2, thought you could argue Mechanized it's an option for it too, I would say nothing beats Field Defenses, ToT to kill Howitzer/Pak43 or OKW Trucks and the Priest that got buffed last patch.
