I just want to come on here and say thanks to Relic, as well as my fellow players and the streamers and casters. Coh2 has been a massively entertaining and ambitious endeavor, and looking back on the last 3 or so years of playing I have to say its a been a great experience.
This game has truly inspired in me the greatest heights of exultation, and the deepest bowels of rage. It induces such a range of emotions I don't know how to describe; what do you call that moment when a reversing Su-85 gets stuck on terrain while a volksblob envelopes it? Or when your Elephant is sunk rolling over the tiniest sliver of ice? Despair doesn't even come close. And yet as RNGesus taketh away, so too doeth he giveth . Think of the relief of an overextended enemy Tiger rolling over a mine, or a wave of hostile riflemen blundering around a corner into cunningly hidden S-mines. No matter the case, inevitably "Unit/Mechanic X OP" and the accompanying smack talk will ensue in the chat.
It is the ever changing meta that is the true heart of the appeal of Coh2, at least for me. Mine eyes have seen the glory of wonders unimaginable in the ancient days of alpha past. Su-75 Killing Tigers and Panthers?!?! Return of mortar pits?!? Panzer IV no longer rushing you before a single enemy AT gun comes out? Hallelujah, amen! From three-man Axis weapon crews, to call-in meta, to supermen Obersoldaten, to implacable emplacements; many of these changes in meta were hardly balanced, but in my opinion its the journey and not the destination that matters. I can't wait to see where we stand in terms of balance, E-sports and dank memes by this time next year. Glory to Coh2! One thousand years Coh2, Coh2 one thousand years! |
