Pretty sure there are probably more people playing Solitaire or Hearthstone then there are playing COH2, and yeah I just made a comparison to Card Games, fuqing card games... |
As an Osteer player, I think of things more towards direct counters. So I generally try to think of the most popular doctrines I'm going up against and which one of my doctrines counter them. For instance* USF Pershing is pretty popular, and I believe Festung Armor with the Command Tank and Pak 43 is the direct counter to the Pershing Commander.
Why? The Pershing Commander lacks artillary to deal with a campy pak 43, while the pak 43 is a great counter for the pershing, and if your'e able to kill it with only spending manpower in exchange that's a very good exchange, similar to that of killing a queen with a rook or something of that sort. But anyways I believe the elements within this doctrine gives you all of the necessary tools to deal with a USF Pershing Player.
Again just an example. Thanks. |
I think the game modes need to end, and they need to be like COH1 actually. They need to remove 3 v 3 and 4 v 4 and only have 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 with randoms. The rest need to be with Arranged Teams, this way the map issues, gameplay issues will be somewhat neutralized due to only coordinated teams playing.
Lets be real here, the game doesn't scale well as we move up to 4v4 and the issues with arty only multiply so the above is really the only way to minimize the error or screw up that is clearly present. |
Seems broken to me that it's that involved or requires that amount of strategy to counter a single structure that is just click/build.... Little Micro Required...
There has to be a more viable counter, I mean try explaining that to a mid level player
Translation: Picking a Doctrine to counter a Non Docturnial Unit seems way too far because it then places you in a bad position when actually dealing with his doctrine. There should be a counter that require NO DOCTRINE.... So in retrospect if you were going mortar HT to counter a 120mm that's doable because 120mm is a doctrine based unit, however when countering a simple bofor, I have to go a specific doctrine? that seems too far fetched to me. |
thanks for sharing. too bad you weren't here months ago. there used to be loads of people saying what you said. and back then, i replied back in length but im just too tired.
so imma say: it is not about combination and making everything have same level of power.
I'll reply back to you and say go with 4 OKW and play like that for a day and watch what happens and then after you're finished go do 2 v2 with two OKWs, and then explain how that works out perfectly oh and please post your results and how it's balanced and everything is good.
Read this thread --> https://www.coh2.org/topic/50945/what-do-you-think-of-2v2-at-the-moment/page/3
I don't really want to go into the specifics about 2 v2 but I'll say this much, if 2v2s have issues (Which clearly it does) how in gods name would 4 v 4 all of a sudden be okay? or not have any issues? Now back to my original point, *Ensure 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 are in good shape* because clearly relic struggles to even make that happen... When you have a mess or a flood you don't just start cleaning right away, you consolidate and isolate and then start cleaning. That is what I proposed and that is the best way to clean up a mess. |
You can't balance 4 v 4 or 3 v 3 so don't even try... It's wasted resources on their end which is very limited to begin with as you can see for Relic. It's better off for Relic and for everyone else that they just focus on 1 v 1 and then 2 v 2, no more no less...
Why is it a waste? Because the maps in conjunctions with the number of commanders brings up way too many variations for it to even be balanced. The combinations are too heavy and it's just way too complicated to even begin to think of balance. Consider the variance in each of the 4v4 maps and how the flag counts can skyrocket from a couple to a ton. Then consider the number of commander combinations in conjunction with the 5 armies.
Furthermore, do you actually think the maps in these games were built with consideration towards brits and how they would play out? City 17, Steppes, alot of these maps were built without any consideration towards brits and then they bring back COH1 maps and think that should surely work out fine with COH2 Armies. And how Emplacements would work on these maps? Fu$k no of course not.... And there you have it, it's a crap shoot so don't take it seriously because when it got developed to begin with it wasn't taken seriously.
I lol at any 4v4 tryhard because you're literally trying to build a house on quick sand.... Relic treats 4v4 and 3v3 as an after thought and so should you.... |
Losing a Job brings focus back on to one's self which is not always a bad thing. It's like anything else in life you can look at it as glass half full or glass half empty, your choice.
From the way this thread has been going I'd venture to guess that the majority of the people in here are glass half empty kinda people, which honestly very sad but you are entitled to your own opinion. I will first hand admit that when my father had announced to me that he had gotten laid off, while I was in middle school I was incredibly selfish and thought about only me and how I was not going to college.
It turned out to be great thing as I built a better relationship with my father during my chaotic teenage years, and furthermore when I didn't get re-signed /extended on my first couple of contract based jobs it ended up being a blessing in disguise as I was able to secure better higher compensating positions, and more importantly something I had higher level of passion for, which I did not know at the time. I ended up in better positions overall and fully believe what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. If gives you more flavor to look outside your generally narrow vision and to try something else, think of it as your first breakup in a way.
Point is after all of this, good can still come out of all of this for everyone and anyone it's solely based on outlook, luckily I learned this early in life. |
Isn't The Division supposed to be buggy too? Just sayin'.
Always take a screenshot when stuff like this happens.
While I understand where you are coming from, the division has been out for less then a week, in year 3-4 do you think Ubisoft would have game breaking bugs like Relic? Doubt it... Rainbox Six is a great game with a great community. |
Beyond pissed at this point, that I uninstalled the game. The date is 3/10/2015, I took PTO time to play this game and thought I'd enjoy the first days of Spring Vacation.
Well there is still present a bug where I go Joint Operations and I lost the ability to build a pak43 or a hotiwzer, built multiple engineers was sitting on 16CP and had NO ability to build a pak43 or a howitzer.I checked both the build structure and build defensive stucture, NOTHING.... I should have taken screenshots, let me see if I can dig them up.
So I pretty much lost because I wasn't expecting lose this ability. Game Breaking, and I'm officially out, my last post here it's just not worth it, poorly written code, poorly tested. On to greener pastors I'm off to Tom Clancy's Division.
I don't understand how this bug can still be present. |
It seems it has underwent a long range accuracy nerf and it doesn't suppress at max range anymore.
I suggest you not play OKW anymore then.
