At my level (400-500 currently), assgrens usually can do the job. Don't spam them, just call in 1 or 2 squads. They are perfect in flanking support weapons. If the USF-player fields in the first 3 minutes a mortar, he does not have enough infantry to protect it or he can not get control of the map.
Not in 2v2 where there will be another dude helps protecting it tho. And if that was a Brit, it basically gg for them since Ostheer just can't survive against those constant laser-guided missiles with their small/low survivability squad.
The idea of adding the mortar for USF was to add variety to their opening and something to counter camping mg, right? Now all I see is duel mortars opening! Now that is some varieties right there :v. Why don't give USF non-doc flamethrower like Ost for Rear, add in the Wc51 and maybe the CE? |
Did the Longshot_Cobra deleted all his replies or something? I see quotes tho.
It has been very much obvious to everyone that the usf mortar is bugged. The Ost one is fine, imo. 2 usf mortars just completely destroyed Ost units due to the bug and the small Ost squad size. I'm fine with the small squad size, but seeing people go duel mortars as usf every single game then rifleblobs Ost to dead just breaks the game right now |
[OST] Elite Infantry Doctrine
0 CP - Elite squad re-oganization (Passive/ 5th man cost 15 muni to buy)
(After getting Vet 3, Pioneer and Grenadier squad will be able to get a 5th man which is a MP40-equipped NCO that logically spread his men out so they not get clump up in 1 pixel. The squad with the NCO will have passive sprint while out of combat)
1 CP - Jaeger Light Infantry Package (45 Muni)
(Allow Grenadier and Panzer Grenadier squad to equip with 2 G43s, can use stun grenade and interrogation)
3 CP - Deploy a 223 Command Scout car (240 MP and 20 fuel)
(A 223 Command Scout car armed with a pintle mounted Mg42 (the one on Pz4) can buff nearby infantries' rate of fire and can order free Recon with a 90-second recharge)
5 CP - Defenders of the Fatherland (90 muni, lasts 60 seconds)
(All infantry squads now gain Defensive bonus while in cover. They are harder to be hit and fire faster)
7 CP - Deploy a 15cm Nebelwerfer 41 (340 MP and 40 fuel)
(Can fire a barrage of HE rockets that deal high damage against emplacements, ambient buildings and infantries)

I think we already have that skin. I'm using it right now, but i can't remember the name (Sorry). It was the skins pack made by Starbuck, I guess? It may not look exactly the same but it is something that you might like.
About those beauties, I don't think Ost in coh2 would actually need them, mainly for balance purposes |
Actually there is no need to score the squad-wipe, I mean sure it's annoying to see the bastard run away with his 1% hp army after A-move to your position but you have to stand your ground! Don't just rage quit or give up! You must consider the fact that after dealing a high amount of damage to his blob with anti-blob weaponry (Land Mattress, Calliope, etc. Or simply a mortar + mg combo, you can name it), it would took him a lot of time to replenish his blob. Use those precious minutes to prepare for the next enemy assault: You can either heal up your troops, reset-up your army, place mines (Very important!) and prepare for his return OR you can make an assault, find where his blobs station (If his Med is outside the base) and finish them off!
About how to deal a high amount of damage to blobs, you can check HelpingHans's series on YouTube (It's not that hard to find, ya know). He has a video of how to counter blobs, just check it!

You can win with Sim City with much less effort and stress, so why should a player do something that is way more micro intensive?
Because it's more challenging and fun for both sides, duh!
Call me a dumbass but I like playing Brits aggressively and no relying heavily on emplacements, it sure is more micro-intensive but it's fun!
Right now, I don't even care if I see someone go Sim City, I don't even bother call him a noob because he isn't! He just like all other people. We all have a tendency to do things in an easier way rather than to take risks or try another could-be-harder tactic. If i to correct them or advise them to try different tactics, it would basically be pointless anyway, just hope that they can one day see a different play style, a different experience that wil make them think: "I should have try this earlier". But well, who am I anyway to change people's perspectives...
Back to the topic, I would say the only thing that cause emplacements to be so annoying is the Advance Cancer Regiment (Which will get some tweaks in the future patch). Besides that, they can be counter, just check Hans' video and you will see. |
How exactly a 40 range unit kites 40 range unit again?
Pardon me, I use the wrong word.
What I meant here is that the AEC can deal quite some good amount of damage to the P4 while some random infantries of yours do the distraction. Sure it could be quite micro-intensive but most of the time are enough to scare the P4 away while you get your ATGs (If lack of fuel) or the Cromwell. Also, REs with flamer and dual piats along with ISs with bren are quite a strong force, ATGs usually I would use to defend rather than offense.
|
As Brits, if you plan to go AEC then get the AEC first. AEC is way much better at dealing with the Axis' light armours. The Luchs can circle-jerk the ATG and same with the 222s and since Brits don't have snare, the AEC would be more viable.
If you can control the AEC effectively and can keep it alive till the first medium armour's arrival then there isn't much to worry, the AEC can still kite the P4, you know. Better buy some extra infantries first, get a Cromwell then you can get ATGs if you fear that enemy armour force are more superior than your team's.
(2v2 perspective, i'm not sure about 1v1 or larger team games tho, but I use this strat and it's quite effective, at least to me) |
So now it's the tank commander that got butchered! I haven't heard anyone complained about this since the Brits released!
I mean sure it sounds overpowered compare to the Panzer Commander, but that's not the problem. You are comparing 2 units in 2 factions, which not gonna solve anything since these two factions OVERALL are quite fairly balance (Minus the Advance Cancer but that is something for another day)
What I'm trying to say is that there will be something in one faction that seem overpower to its similar feature in another faction but of course there will be something else that underpowered, and that's it! These OPs and UPs' features are those that make factions unique, provide different flavors, not just one faction being copied 5 times. |
yeah i dont get why dual bren tommies rape everything maybe a not a vet 5 obers...i think thye should only get cover bonus from green not yellow cover and limit the brens to 1 just like grens and same for rifles....i think then standard infantry will be balanced across all factions
Someone may have to corect me but if i'm not mistaken, IS only get bonus in green cover while in yellow cover, they are who they really are and they get a de-buff when out of cover. I think i had read it somewhere but couldn't seem to remember where. |
