I really feel like this is a missed opportunity to finally give the Riegel mine a viable entry into the game. I know this would take a bit more work, but if you swapped the Schu with the Riegel at vet 1, then it would start to see use and you could clean up some of the most obsolete Ost Commanders, by swapping the Riegel ability with something that might actually see use.

The doctrine is good enough. In fact, it was one of the favored doctrines a year ago before the revamp and new commanders. At this point though it has been eclipsed by other commanders, but this in itself does not make it bad.

I would respectfully disagree with Hon3ynuts in terms of the falls. Anything that takes 2/3 infantry squads to be chased of has done a fine job just tying up units. Even though Fallschirmjägers excel at all ranges like they say in the description, they should be fighting from a distance and let cheaper units soak up the fire. At vet 2 they also make amazing ambushers, which you can park around a ressource point (in cover and with hold fire activated) and when the opponent goes to cap it, you can pretty much get a guaranteed wipe firing from concealment potentially backed up with a grenade if it's a tough unit. What really puts Falls a notch above other elite units though, is their ability to use a snare, which makes them a much higher risk for light vehicles and also protects them from being run down when retreating. However they also have a clear downside in their exorbitant deployment and reinforment cost, so you should probably never have more than two on the field. Many a time I have beaten a less experienced player who got starstruck by this unit, which lead them to literally hemorrhaging manpower and killing them in the long run.

Other than the Falls, the Valiant assault is really the selling point of the doctrine, giving both a buff in speed and combat performance which makes it great for breakthrough of enemy lines. The only problem with this ability is that as OKW you are often strapped for munis which can make it difficult to find the ressources some of the time.


So bottom line we are looking at an adequate and not least fun doctrine, albeit a bit harder to optimize and also a bit worse than doctrines like spec ops and Overwatch.

I recently saw a match where Aimstrong upgraded all his pgrens with g43 on Arnheim Checkpoint.

Does anyone know under which conditions the g43 outperforms the STG that the pgrens get out of the gate?

I've been dicking around a bit with the new fusiliers after the latest patch. While they are good and versatile on paper I have a hard time´figuring out how best to use them in my build rather than just going volks as normal.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how, when and how many to get and when it's best to make this choice rather than something else?

Hey dude.

The short answer to your feedback is to just write of this game. You faced a top 200 guy with thousainds of hours more than you under his belt. The odds were completely unfair and you just picked the very short end of the stick in the match making.

Having said that I will still give you some general pointers on your specific questions, but as I am on holiday I will not be able to watch the game so some things will be guesswork.

1. the UC is a serious problem for wehr in the early game. there is really not any other way of putting it frankly. Regardless of your opening and doctrine, you really won't have a good counter to it before the 222, and if managed right you will be so fuel starved that the AEC will hit the field at the same time. I wish I could give you better advice, but in short you will just have to try and cap the other side of the map and perhaps see if you can get lucky with a faust and ganging up on it with a few grens.

2. This problem is most likely tied with the first one. A UK player with good micro of a UC (which a top 200 will have) is going to absolutely punish your fuel.

3. I imagie that your opponent had picked the special weapons commander with the m M3 truck and possibly put in one or two tank hunter Infantry sections. These will outmanouver and outgun your 222. Snares and well placed mines can counter it, but if he took you by surprise then there is, once again, not much you can do.

The bofors and sim city can be a real struggle for newer players to handle. I personally found that the best way to deal with them is to get a doctrine with the mortar halftrack and use incindeary rounds and barrage on them- Two is ideal as you can time it between brace and ensure that they cannot be repaired by neaby infantry as they will die to the flames. There are other options as well, but I found that this is the easiest and requires the lowest maintenance.
