Thread: Looking for mentor/ sparring partner 30 Jul 2018, 09:41 AM So I haven't been able to play this game as competitively as I have liked due to life and stuff. I should have some time now after work and during the weekend. I have been around the 200 mark 1v1 for most factions previously. I'm a bit down from that atm but I should get back there, at least for my main factions, with some work. I'm looking for a mentor who can push me (beat me up) in 1v1s and that we can review replays. If you're around my rank or even lower that's fine as well, we can partner up rather than as a mentor. Things I know for myself to improve, is to spar someone who can push you and review your losses. I don't often have the motivation to review replays on my own so it would be awesome to find someone else who can review replays with me and we can also review yours or pro replays as well to improve. My timezone is GMT+12 New Zealand and I'm free from around 6pm-11pm local time weekdays and most of the time from 10am- 2am in the weekend. In: Mentoring

Thread: Debuff for blobs15 Feb 2017, 00:28 AM People are saying blobs are easily countered and if you can't you are a noob yet many of the top 10 2v2 players blob all the time... something doesn't add up here. Sure there are ways to counter but blobs are way too effective to the point where often top players will blob not because they aren't skilled players but because the blobs can be just that effective. In real life a lot of guys bunched up are a lot easier to hit and the guys at the back will also struggle to shoot because they have like 20 team mates in front. I would personally increase received accuracy and decrease outgoing damage and increase suppression. How to implement? It could be based upon the level of overlap between squads so a small overlap between two squads does nothing but 6 squads in a ball has serious debuffs. Or just make it if 3 or more squads are together if it needs to be simpler in coding. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Anyone want a mentor?5 Dec 2016, 15:15 PM Hey I'm willing to pick up a mentee, here's my player card http://www.companyofheroes.com/leaderboards#profile/steam/76561198006638848/standings I have a few requirements, first I'm only teaching you if you are prepared to put in the work and dedicate some time. That means you are playing every week at least 5 games. You must be primarily playing 1v1s, team games can be fun from time to time but you learn the most from 1v1s. We will review replays together, this will be the primary method of teaching and it works so you will need to save all your losses. We will also skirmish or I would find you a partner who is better than you to skirmish against. Best way to improve your game is to constantly play someone who will push you to a higher level. I don't care where your current level is as long as you're not already a top 200 player but you need to want to put some work into getting better and I will aim to get you into top 200 at least. My timezone is GMT + 12 I'm usually awake from midday to 3 or 4 in the morning my time. If you're interested PM me or add me on steam (same name as here). In: Mentoring

All you need to do is spam enough games to shake the dust off, the meta game has been so one dimensional for a while you will have a pretty good grasp on it in about 50 games. I disagree, even at my best I was still learning from my mentor. Even though I was good enough to win vs him some of the time, there was still things I missed from my game that he noticed. I also may have beaten a fair few of the top players on my day, but I was still outclassed by the very best. There's a huge gap between the top 100 players and the top 10. There's always room for improvement and nobody has truly mastered this game. Even the best players in the world in any sport get support on their game. In: Mentoring

I am now able to play CoH2 competitively so aiming for top 100 in all factions and then top 50 for 1 or 2 factions. Anyway I've got a long way to go so if any decent players are able to help I am willing to do what it takes to improve. Thread: Looking for someone else who is serious about getting good3 Jul 2015, 00:12 AM I'm looking for someone who wants to get good at this game and is prepared to put in the work. Any skill level is fine as long as your committed. I'm not a mentor but what I propose is rather than a mentor/mentee situation we work together as equals. We would spar and review each others 1v1 replays and also expert replays together and could possibly play the odd 2v2 AT. I'm green at this game but I did get to the top 100 in CoH1 and now I've decided I'm going to take 2 seriously so I have a fair idea of what needs to be done to get good.
