This is an all around problem, both sides exacerbated the issue. Pointing at only one side or another is ignorant, some people need to realize that. And with this new step they are taking, its awesome, something we have been waiting for a long time. But they need to be commited to it, and live up to the promise of being more open. I think if they live up to their side of it, the community will gradually follow suit and do the same.
i agree, it all got.. is, really extreme. we're essentially building a self-fulfilling prophecy here, especially when talking about "commitment" considering any of us could uninstall/throw our HD into the ocean, which is why i've stopped keeping score and hope more people do the same. which isn't to mean, not give constructive criticism or manage accountability.
I once had a streak of -6,vs the old OKW as USF when I was almost top 200,fell all the way to 600,which absoulutely crushed my self esteem lol,I took it so hard...
Then I took a break from 1v1 for about a week, regathered myself, reevaluated my strategies, watched a TON of top player casts, and then won 7 in a row and got as high as 231 before losing a close one to a top 50.
Take a break from ostheer, maybe play another faction in that period, dont worry so much about winning,EVENTUALLY things will get back on track...youll start winning again....dont worry.
I know saying "dont worry about winning" is cliche but when you go into games not caring if you win or not you'll play WAY better than if you're going "tryhard i gotta winnnnn"
At least in my opinion.
be as light as you can, a little pressure is good, it gets you going, but it can also consume you. it helps to keep unnecessary pressure and other distractors off you. don't worry about your rank so much: play on till you lose, the stones inside your shoes.
6 loss streak, fuck sake, this just isn't fun any more. This was my most recent loss, even on axis sided maps I do badly. how did I get to here from rank 800? Before even losing was fun now every game is miserable.
Woah man, hold on a moment. I know it's easy to start questioning yourself after these brutal cold streaks, but ya gotta be doing that from a neutral and balanced view, I really feel your frustration, remember it's a game we play to enjoy and that anything with RNG means you can make the best plays and still lose, that doesn't that make you a bad player. Sometimes you just gotta hate the wizard of odds.
I'm going for a run, and will gladly review this when I return. Bearing in mind I tend to write essays. So, keep tight! I wouldn't be surprised if Australian Magic and/or Cookies, beats me to it.
Don't worry about it dude, we're here to help! It's a process after all, remember all the hard work it took to get you here? Well, more is in store.
Cookies gives great advice too, play the faction you feel wipes the floor with you, it will help you gain some insight into their flow, help you with your timings and recognizing patterns, and maybe even give you some insight as to how to play the Wehr if you encounter something often that you don't often use/try.
I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but their trust in us was shown in preivous alphas and betas where it seemed that Relic didn't trust us to tie our own shoes. After a long and silent relationship, I can see where people's reservations about "trusting" Relic comes from. It will take a while to heal, but changes need to be made on both sides of the aisle. Relic needs to be more upfront with us and trust us instead of hiding everything behind their NDA. And at the same time we start treating them with more respect.
It's interesting, when people start citing the past, when everything as of late, new patch, road map, alpha, weekly streams, in that context show infinitesimally more openness on relics behalf. However, infantile it might be to measure things like that, they've done X thus everything's OK now- I'm no longer bitter. I'm more interested in the progress and the process of forging a better relationship. I've forgiven relic... however egotistical that may sound, and i hope they've forgiven the harsh nonconstructive things i've... we've, said in the past. I feel like it's us at the moment who have to meet them half way.
eventually you'll get to the point where you start actually "meta-gaming" by drawing your opponents attention on one flank and grenading a squad elsewhere, or timing your assaults on one side of the map and doing something, somewhere else. like a boxer faking a hook and going in with jab.
Replace the word PzIV by T34 or Sherman and you're going to the same argumentation with a worst result.
PzIV is the best of the 3 tanks and it has the best veterancy. it also has the best survivability vs other T4 tank destroyers, SU85 and M36.
A sherman alone or a T34 alone cannot do anything vs a panther.
Now it doesn't outclass completely his fellow but it arrives at the right time to support your pak vs the sherman and the T34 + shreck and faust.
This is my point regarding the thrust of the threads argument. That T3 for the soviets currently serves as a bridge when it arrives. People don't counter T3 or > with T3. Bigger scarier things arrive, in order to counter T3, which for the soviets whether we agree with it or not, is call-in armor. That's just the current flow of the game, and perhaps may also have its roots in how upkeep is calculated.
