Losing after losing I think I have managed to achieve some good positions against US. Protecting the MGs, two of them if very blobbing, maybe one mortar to fire against enemy artillery, and play very conditionally on what the other player does, no pak until vehicles, no scout until m20, and so on.
Counter capping is very useful as well and not spamming rifle grens enough to be able to place a couple mines, and patience!
Lost 4 matches in a row exactly the same way, usf spam bar to cutoff + m20 + sherman, doesn't even seems he has to think about any strategy at all.
I provide my latest replay here, but if you have any replay of this map starting with ostheer against USF on south, i'll appreciate it, dont know what else I can do
In this case I tried with a scout car + upgun, in the others, dual mg or spam lmg43
ps: I afk'd in the first 20 seconds, result wasn't different when I didnt afk though ;/
ps2: Yes, i've seen korean army against barton replay, but barton starts with 3 engies and so much high tier doesn't count for me. Other succesful ostheer stores I've seen was semoisky but thats another 'particular' map as well so it doesnt provide much to learn about. The other replays i've seen, ostheer was harassed and destroyed early game as well.
He retreated not because of the flamethrowers but do to the fact the two units had gotten completely surrounded on all sides. Cons from behind the mg and the flamethrowers at the front.
Alright but beyond the big picture, lets focus on that little encounter. By the time one of the two engineer squads got suppressed, it was already on flamethrower range. Whats the point of an mg squad if you can't stop frontal infantry assaults? Even if Barton attacked with one engineer, I bet it was going to get burned anyways. And this is not even considering the squad of grens supporting the mg
