Yea, Ostheer does not suffer from insane tech against SU, both factions had their tech cost increased to slow down the pace of the game before WFA, point still stands.
I always build P4 whenever I choose a Tiger doctrine, only n00bs build Panthers with Tiger doctrines and Elephants (defeats the whole purpose of calling in).
Ostheer is fine vs SU. Please stop spitting BS. Thanks.
Fine in the sense that you have 1 tank that it capable of countering the IS2 and ISU-152. Ostheer has a giant MP drain soviets do not have, and on top of that they have linear teching while Soviets do not.
The PIV is more viable against SU than USF, but it still is a waste of fuel when you could just stick to tech 2 and make PaK's to deal with enemy armor and Grens/MG's to deal with enemy infantry. |
Considering it's all locked behind this ludicrous NDA, none of us have any idea what ongoing issues are specifically being looked at do we. So I make it a point to look into things after each patch. Unfortunately this is the most informative way to look into ongoing issues because we are told didly squat, so asking questions is a waste of my time unless I want to be answered with NDA. It just so happens that going through looking at those files you tend to stumble across new things when they appear.
TBH balance isn't my problem to solve, nor shall I begin a topic about what changes I find when they occur because after all fixing the game is not my job so why get all wound up about something that is almost completely out of my control. This community just like all others will never be 100% satisfied.
I've looked through thousands of lines of code over the past two weeks and I can tell you that most people here wouldn't have the faintest idea what they're even looking at.
In saying that we then understand that most people would have no idea how to fix the game, yet so many people think they know better than Relic, when in fact the truth is most don't have a clue. So if you convert that argument over to loving/liking/satisfied etc. Who would you think cares more about the games success? Who will determine it?
EDIT: As a separate closing statement because it seems trying to be positive and optimistic around here only gets you more and more hateful PM's, I shall simply say I don't think you'll find me posting more of what I find in the General forums any longer, welcome back the days of NDA.
People aren't positive or optimistic because they have nothing to be positive or optimistic about. Why would I, or anyone else be optimistic when have been given a shit sandwich of epic proportions?
And yeah people are giving you shit because after Napalms little news article people are getting quite tired of people coming to bat for Relic when the fucking Relic community manager herself admits that there are things wrong with the state of the game and that the fact zero communication is happening is stupid. |
My reason is to let OKW stay the way it is. Elitist army with few but very powerful units on the field. Especially late game. Right now they are able to spam the hell out of infantry. This combined with insane Vet5 bonuses and very powerful units creates a composition that negates any infantry play late game. In one of the recent games I came across Vet5 Flashimjegers (or whatever you spell that) that obliterated my Rifles.
With less manpower you'll get less units which means OKW can keep their veterancy bonuses. Otherwise a serious rework is to be done.
Reducing MP income isn't going to make them "elite" it's going to ruin OKW's early game chances even more. OKW's first units are by no standard "elite", Volk's are the worst baseline starting infantry in the game till they reach vet 3.
And MP float would still happen because OKW will still eventually get all their units out, and then stop spending because they have no bloody fuel to spend MP on tanks/vehicles.
If you want OKW to be "elite" with reduced MP income make it so the starting units are "elite" and thus able to handle the immense amount of allied infantry on the field early game.
I think op has a good point here. I like the design of the Okw-vehicles from the Kubel to KT. What I dont like is the 4 volks 3 obermeta. Let the vehicles stay as they are, maybe even obers are good and shrecks if the mp are reduced for okw. Its booring to see okwplayers suicide the blobs just to get new ones.
To bad OKW doesn't have the fuel to make vehicles. So even if you nerf the shit outa OKW infantry they will still be everywere because of the fuel penalty.
Increase the price for Volks to 240 MP+ or increase reinforcement cost if they vet 3 +. Also, why not just get rid of this vet 5 bullshit all together. What OKW needs an over haul and best way to do it is to give them support weapons and get rid of this call in MG-34 bull. This will help MP float much better.
Why the hell should they cost more than Allied basic starting infantry when they are worse in every stat until Vet 3? |
I love how people automatically assume they're not going to like something before they even have proper knowledge of it's implementation.
To be brutally honest it's not Relic's fault people aren't happy with the game. They make the game, only you can decide if you like it or not. So technically if your not happy with what is provided to you to experience then that's technically each persons own fault it has nothing to do with Relic.
For example, the amount of people complaining that we haven't seen a balance patch in months. Is this because they don't think there's currently a need for it. Which may very well be the case. Or because of the amount of people that frequent the forums complaining about lack of balance manage to rope more players in? Turning one persons idea into a frenzy, based on players that more often than not only need to improve their game. Yet decide to not take on that responsibility because it is easier to blame Relic.
I'll let each of you decide.
It is 100% Relics fault people are not happy with the game, there is tons of objectively bad things in the game such as the immense amount of bugs and performance issues. Why the hell should I NOT blame Relic for a bug that's been in the game for months on end and is an extremely game changing thing?
Relic themselves have said balance is wonked at the moment, how blind do you have to be to assume that it's the Players who are wrong when there isn't a single person in the entire coh2 sphere who things every thing is fine atm.
Dude you gotta understand something, no one knows how this will work, no one even knows that it WILL happen, we can all assume, but I choose not to go around making decisions when even I don't have the full information, I leave my mind open to what may be as skeptical as I am that is the logical choice.
When this thread was made it was to inform people of things that not everyone was aware of. I could give more information but ideally who would understand the lines of code if they were showed them?
I don't provoke discussion on anything besides what has been found and how it may affect THIS game! The fact that people have decided this will be as bad as or worse than COHO is rather poor choice considering how little they know on the subject. As for your comment on 'Mighty Relic' I myself am not satisfied with the game in its current state as many have seen me post multiple times.
But consider this, we all play the same game right? So how is it Relics fault that some people are satisfied and some are not with the current state of the game? How is it that some still play while others have given up or taken breaks? Do they make these decisions for us? I think you'll find the statement is correct.
Funny that your theory is completely wrong, considering the fact that thread is the way it is because the a large number of people posting here are unhappy about the current state of the game, and choose to see the negative in all this. As for the support relic statement, yes I do support them, I support them for trying to change things again, after the last time they changed them they were condemned for doing so, it takes guts to try it again with full knowledge that this community would happily lynch them for doing it.
Okay, someone is squatting over your dinner plate with their pants down, do you think they are going to lay a golden egg for you? Or just shit all over a plate and make you eat it when they just did that to the last 10 people at the table. |
And? Does it need high speeds to set up on base sector? Thats not really an argument at all.
If Ambulance can get to the point of Major deployment without any problems, why sws truck should be any different here?
Unless you don't use it as a means to expand your base, but a combat unit for pushing infantry out of cover for free wins in early engagements, which it was not designed to do.
You can also slow it down to ambulance speed and acceleration(which again, certain people believe to be fine for some reason) and put the upgrade for speed like brits had.
Or you can admit its not fine and actually support an underperforming unit, which at the moment is nothing more then slugging med bunker.
The SWS is almost 4 times as large as a Medi Ambulance, why would it have the same paper thin armor? One is literally just a truck, one is a armored half track. I think pushing is stupid but it would make no sense for the SWS to have no armor or no crush when it's a half track made to carry important supplies and gear onto a battlefield.
The Medi Ambulance is a truck, I wouldn't mind it being faster, but it having any armor to speak of is silly. Just because one thing is underpreforming doesn't mean you should nerf other stuff to bring it down to it's level.
IMO just give it much faster speed and acceleration, but keep the armor and health the same. It's an ambulance, not a medivac HT (which should be in the game). |
And Scatter, which makes the Tiger a far less RNG dependent INF killer than the IS2. + Better Vet ability
The Tiger doesn't invalidate enemy armor nearly in the same way the IS2 does, but yeah when facing a infantry horde a Tiger is probably preferable, but I will always take the IS2 over it due to the fact the IS2 can shut down anything smaller than a KT, and even then 2 IS2's will kick a KT's ass.
My point still stands. Ostheer only has a problem with USF and not SU. Axis only players need to stop marketing Ostheer as a useless faction against Allies. Thanks.
Ostheer's problems are largely structural, they suffer against SU because of the insane teching costs and lack of worthwhile units in t3. The issue is just much more pronounced against USF due to USF's insanely fast teching and superior stock units.
Ostheer isn't useless, it's just a support faction, so if you like being the water boy/logistics officer it's kinda cool.
And the fact that your supporting tanks are vastly superior to their Soviet counterparts...
If your going for Tigers your not going to have other tanks on the field, Ostheer teching doesn't allow you to push out Panthers and get Tigers. |
If its so fine and survivable I say lets go one step further and make SWS trucks have as much speed and armor.
I mean, why a truck with few first aid kits should be slower then a truck full of supplies or a gun, or slowe then friggin KING TIGER tank.
The reason the SWS has more speed and armor is because it's the most important OKW unit in the game hth. |
A redesign of every faction, or at least the vanilla ones. |
They read the forums. I hope they are taking some of this feedback in. Until then all we can do is;
Yeah jump to conclusions, it's not like we have a detailed description in the OP.
Sometimes I think they read the forums and trick themselves with reverse psychology that what players want is the exact opposite of what they post about all day, every day, in hundreds of threads.
Cynthia reads the forums, the developers do not. That is why nothing said here matters that much ultimately. I mean shit the devs can't even get the patch notes right. |
If by the Emperors Wrath you mean Sega's wrath than yeah. Sega is in the garbage bin financially right now, can't really afford many more flops. |
