Rifles Doc usefulness depends on map. If there many close combat (lienne right) or buildings (ettelbruck) it is super good. Spam rifles, spam elite rifles, rush bars, roll over everything, never tech past t1 and dump all free mp into fuel caches.
Thing is in scenario where there is only one usf player, that usf player should go jacksons, because they THAT good, and therefore, there is no reason to play rifles.
Recon only semi-useful thanks to pathfinders barrage, aside form it this doctrine is total garbage.
What is the Greyhound? The added sight bonus on infantry in cover is also great because it lets you sight for your .50 cals and FP's really easy. |
Okay this is getting nonsensical. Infantry counters the kubel, moving to the left or right counters it. |
Here, here.
The E8's are wayyy too expensive for what they do, and come way too late. The flamers and phosphorus are nothing more than a munitions sink, and what you're left with are rifles which, I suppose can be handy in the first 2 minutes timing wise, flanking a position quickly, or replacing a squad lost in the late game, giving them a leg up from stock, but otherwise you're left fighting without any doctrinal units or abilities which realllly hamstring you. They don't match the flexibility in the airborne or... and I know Alexzandvar will disagree with me, Recon.
Recon is my favorite USF doctrine. |
Care to elaborate? I always thought it was very good.
The Easy Eight won't get you anywhere if the regular Sherman isn't. The white phosphorous can't even kill infantry, the flamers are quite volatile, and veteran riflemen are just a big fat waste of MP when rifles aren't even that harder to vet up.
It looks good on paper, but in practice I don't find it filling any of USF's holes like the other docs do. Infantry gives you indirect fire and LMG's, air borne lets you get he AT gun/ .50 cal with out teching. |
New idea time!
Each truck converted after your first gives you two levels of Vet. You can only get to Vet 1 after converting the first, and Vet 3 after the second!
Vet 5 comes when you covert all 3 trucks. |
i always go rifle company so i can get riflegrenade from the getgo
kubel is so fucking OP
This a trap you really don't want to fall into, Rifle company is a really shit doctrine. |
Regarding the Su85.
It doesn't neccesarily needs to be a stun/paralize. It could be a debuff similar to button on which the tank get slower.
I also mention it could be a damage buff instead, eventhough i would prefer my first idea. This rewards someone who previously anticipated the opponent, and gives more windows of opportunity to the Su85 before it loses it's range advantage.
Offtopic: remember that Stugs are 80f, just 10 more than a T70.
The problem is that it would just make the SU-85 a stealth Jackson if it got a damage boost on it's first "ambush" shot. It just seems like it would make Axis mediums even more rare, and the Panther only has 800 health.
It would be cool if the SU-85 could lock down in stealth camo and get a for sure pen on the first "ambush shot", but I don't think it needs anymore damage/stun. |
To bad most players will continue to ignore Soviet indirect superiority for ~reasons~ and continue to lose matches because of it. |
Iv re crewed my Pak43's before to find despite the crew dying the gun still could shoot a stun round which is a bug that has to do with the gun getting the vet and keeping it after being decrewed.
Might be the same issue here. |
make sure youre direct firing with this thing as much as possible (theres a clear shot from you to your target). its really really really bad when shooting over stuff because the projectile speed is insanely slow
So use it like the Scott basically? |
