Most of what you said in this post is very true, but why do I get the feeling you try to force the idea of third axis faction
I'm not trying to force it, I don't mind if Relic just makes new commanders which OKW/Ost really do need. But many have speculated that they might release a third Axis faction at a later date.

Early days of Africa the brits laughed at silly German panzers. Matilda senior was like the KV was an introduction to the eastern front.
Churchills were, for all their many faults, very well armoured for their design and perfectly capable in their role in British military tactics of the time. And capable of crossing any terrain you threw at them save for literally vertical climbs. But they could get damn close.
Comet was essentially a British Pershing in terms of armour protection, limited runs included the Tortoise (as numerous as ostwinds ever were), etc. etc.
Of course, they didn't have the best land force, but they were predominately a naval power up until WWII and invested heavily in the RAF throughout, hoping to use commonwealth territorries, Russia and America to provide numerical weight where they could not.
First rate artillery of any nation in the war only rivalled by sheer numerical weight levied by russia, plenty of time spent developing bombing techniques.
Brits are a viable WWII power and are credited as such with good reason. They just don't have white elephant KRUPP STEEHL designs for people to wehraboo over in RTS games. Because they designed them (see TOG II [hah], Black Prince) but learned earlier than most that enormous, monstrosity heavy tanks were not the future of armoured combat.
The issue with British tanks is they all come from a fundamental misunderstanding of the strategical necessities of WW2. Many of them were made assuming conditions similar to those in WW1, not to mention failure to understand what made tanks good such as sloped armor and speed.
The British had good support weapons, but it would be impossible to build the faction around heavy reliance on armor. They are as equally viable as a new Axis faction that focused on Assault Guns and TD's would be.
To wit, the only faction that would be unviable is the Japs, simply because the tanks they would need to be competitive didn't even exist. |
I like how their are people ITT that are saying a Axis faction based around a combination of Italian and German forces using stuff like the StuG IV or Jadgpanther would be unviable but Brits are lol.
Brits had a plethora of terrible armor, there is no need to get huffy about realism. |
Because an army of purely PPSH cons is so OP
The conscript PPsH is a little babby gun compared to the Thompson. Thompson does over twice it's DPS.
The reason it's balanced for Para's to get them is because you can't really get that many Para's, but if you could hand out Thompsons to every unit it would be stupid good on smaller maps and ruin Ostheers day even more.

Lend lease isn't shitty and is picked quite frequently for a non meta commander.
Yet no one uses more clumsy maxim with additional cost and less mobility.
Every time I use Lend Lease I do a t1 start with the Dhsk supporting and conscript back up, then again I only ever go this commander in higher game modes because while the M4C might be the best Sherman in the game it pails in comparison to the T34-85 and IS2.
The DhsK needs to have a wider arc or maybe faster reposition time, really as far as unit's go it doesn't need that much love compared to say; Irregulars. |
having nothing but close range infantry will just leave you open to being but down at long range especially with MG support. Also im pretty sure only one or two models with actually get the Thompson.
Once you get enough units with close range weapons the enemy can only hold back so many units till you get in close enough range and then they get owned. If you wanted a Thompson rack you would need to either have a high cost per weapon or only allow certain units to get it.
I would be fine with Ass Engines getting a 5th man at Vet 2, but USF really doesn't lack for early game options right now. |
To everyone bringing up the werfer, sturmtiger and brummbar; there's a big difference between expensive and useless.
The werfer and brummbar can wipe squads. The latter has reliable deflection damage and stuns. The sturmtiger can one shot wipe most tanks.
By comparison, irregulars can't hurt anything. AI partisans die to a stiff breeze. Rear Echelon can't even suppress now.
There are plenty of less used axis units, but none of them are in the same league of useless .
I considered adding the leig and pack howitzer but the recent buff seems to have given them some use.
It it's shit at it's job for it's cost, then it's useless. The Sturmpanzer IV, the Werfer, and the StuG III Ausf J all fit in this category also possibly Ass Grens.
The OKW PIV also fits in this category.
Dishk is a cop out if you are not going T2, and even then I would not get them. Dishk suffers from all the same problems a maxim has with only some more damage and penetration which isnt very effective for all that extra manpower.
The DshK is never seen because it's in shitty commanders, which is a death sentence for a unit for Soviets.

Thompsons are the highest DPS SMG in the game, it would be insanely broken to give every single squad Thompsons. |
Exactly.
Players need to spend 2 to 3x as much requisition to get same power income as they would in 1v1.
What does that mean?
NO RESOURCE INFLATION as all players need to invest just as much in 3v3 as in 1v1 per player.
Same resource spent, no boosted income, no late game imbalance.
lol somebody never played 3v3 with triple Imperial Guard. Nothing could ever touch the Baneblade in late game power. |
The issue here is that each unit preforms shit in it's defined roll, so as far as your poll goes it means nothing because they are all terrible at their designated roll. |
