It shows where you come from and how much value they have. I also find it completely hilarious that someone who believes M-42 at gun is good against medium tanks tells me that I don't play the game. Dude, the only one who was more detached then you from reality on this boards was lolcake. I love how you dodge the fact you haven't played a single game in months and instead go on the offensive. To humor you; the M-42 in numbers and can be scary to light medium tanks like Ostwind and StuG III, on close range maps it works. It also vet's up insanely fast because like the Pak43 it never got the verterancy gain for it adjusted. It's a low MP cost unit that shoots at tanks lots of times. Once it gets some vet it can be a fairly big pain in the side of a PIV spammer. To bad it's trapped in Eddlebruck Station Tactics and Pissmunnity Defense Tactics. Of course it's hard to know that because you can't use units in a game you don't play. In: COH2 Balance

Also, weren't you banned from alpha forum together with another lolcake clone? Or I'm thinking about someone else here? How can you know if something is OP or not when you don't play the game. Thread: Shot blockers and bad map balance29 May 2015, 20:54 PM Jump back to quoted post29 May 2015, 20:27 PMpigsoup steppes interesting? it is the most boring map. only reason it deserves to stay is that it is abnormally open, which i think the players need from at least one map. general mud is interesting. it is asymmetrical. it would be much more boring if the southern side also had a church, all the contested points in the middle were exactly the same distance from each other, natural shot blockers replicated with man made shot blockers on the exactly opposite side of the map etc etc. you think LOL/DOTA2 maps are interesting? i think they are absolute bore. Maps like Pavlov's house is much more interesting. I think it is balanced overall (mostly due to its size imo. only thing good that came out of community map highlight for me). it is asymmetrical and balanced. it is not like symmetrical maps would strictly bring balance anyway since factions are asymmetrical. would be easier i guess. Relic literally made a game called DoW (which proved to be a lot more successful than CoH and be more balanced) were almost every map was symmetrical and the maps were still really interesting. You can have interesting stuff, but it has to be able to be accessed equally or we get Eddlefucked bullshit were whoever gets in the most turbo-durable stone buildings first wins and it's easier for one side to do that then the other. You can have symmetrical maps without having lane bullshit like DOTA. As you pointed out balancing can be hard, which is why the maps should be more equal so you take out having to worry about maps favoring sides over others out of the equation (mostly). Maps being hot flaming garbage is probably the number 1 or 2 biggest issues with 3v3 and 4v4 atm and the maps having even the most basic attempt at being symmetrical would be nice. Why has Steppes; a map that has been in since literally the very first iteration of COH2 any has ever played (Alpha) stuck around? Because it's symmetrical, and therefore more balanced. Just saying. Perhaps not this forum, but the alpha forum DEFINATELY. And i honestly dont think there are no reasonable people here that think that the pak howi/leig are fine as they are. Katitof's problem is any good point he might have had is lost in a sea of extreme aggressiveness probably gained from having a 500 post to 1 game ratio. Arguing to much makes you bitter, and Katitof does literally nothing but frame even the absolute tinniest problem/issue/topic as the last helicopter out of Saigon turning even the most mundane discussion into a high stakes flamewar were everyone loses. If Katitof played more, he would be a lot less insane with his wide sweeping declarative statements. Still, at least the dude doesn't have his own personal fan cult following him around like I do getting salty in game and hounding replays I feel so sorry for him In: COH2 Balance

Probably does not test nearly as much as we think and B. Probably only test certain things Relic specifically want tested. More people equals more fights equals more balance and bug fixes. Relic has learned this from the recent [NDA intensifies], having a small group for focused testing isn't a bad idea per say but it's hard to tell if the testing is happening or just being done badly in the "closed" stuff when we have maps that make it to release like Sittard were concrete bridges are actually wood or Wolfs Lair were an entire army literally cannot play if they get put on one side of the map. Thread: Demo Charges are fun.29 May 2015, 16:04 PM Demo's and mines are the biggest encouragers of horde tactics because it means it's best way to ensure your army isn't being hit by mines or demo's. You can always when using hordes send your weakest highest squad count plebs like Volks or Oustruppen or Cons or RE's ahead of you to simply soak up the mines and run away. This of course is silly, and the problem with Soviets being able to force enemy players to blob by hemming them in with demo's and mines is that Soviets also get the best "horde" counters in the form of the 120, Katyusha, B4, and ML-20. All testing needs a rainbow. It's more important stuff is idiot proof than "able to be used by top tier players". The adjusted them by fractions of a percent in the case of the mortar carrier and I think around just 11% in the case of the 120. In: COH2 Gameplay

I would need to check for the files for that, since it seems every time Iv played that math lines up with OKW benefiting from having more specialized points over having more normal points.
