Best thing about this patch how ostheer hmg destroy blobs, kubel suppresses with first burst imediately after set-up, but maxims still the same worthless piece of junk which got blobbed to death and then salvaged.
Relic should at least give DShK AoE suppression of hmg42. Damn thing cost so much and so useless it hurts. I don't care how much damage it does, if it cant fight blobs, why i need it? Even if it was out of doctrine i just build cheaper maxims instead.
Also in team games paradrop 50 cal for soviets could be a nice thing.
The DHsK can suppress a squad a lot faster than the MG42 can and has a faster swivel time. If you have good micro a DHsK is better than an MG42, if you have shit micro the DHsK is worse.
And why need it? Idk it hard counters OKW starts by having good performance versus OKW's higher model count squads and having the ability to cause serious harm to light vehicles.
It's travel time is like half a second. You have to be watching the guy crouch from the very start to effectively avoid it and in the heat of battle you cannot always be doing this not to mention sometimes when the models are just firing like normal there will be a guy crouched and firing. As well as world objects and other things effecting your ability to see the model. And you cannot always have a healthy squad I mean it takes time to get an ambulance and you don't just retreat because you lost 1 model. If I wanted to I could make you a compilation video of how many times I have had riflemen wiped in green cover. In open terrain its much easier avoided but in cover world objects make riflemen bumble around and they just cannot move fast enough most of the time.
Jesus man please use the enter key/space bar. But it is literally impossible for a rifle grenade to wipe a full health rifle squad in green cover.
And the key to defensive stance is using it offensively, ironically. Also the 1919 by itself without defensive stance is still really really good.
And what you can speak about flanking when single mg42 suppress squad with one shot on any distance. Today I have a lot of games when mg42 just suppress my squad from fog of war, squad was very far frame this mg.
The weakness of the MG42/34 is that is has a loooooong swivel time. Meaning if you send in two squads each on one end of the arc one squad will get suppressed while the other can get close enough to throw a grenade.
Not really you having to be watching every squad on the field at one time all the time and no one can do that and thanks to pathing and dumb shit riflemen will not always move fast enough to get out of the way when your in cover like there running into each other and rifle nades still wipe in green cover.
No they don't. Green cover reduces incoming damage so unless you rifle squad is already almost dead it will take 40% reduced damage and not be wiped.
Also if you miss the most obvious grenade tell in the game along with it's travel time then welp I don't really know what to say. The abusive thing about defensive stance is that it has no draw backs because you can reposition almost instantly.
I think mg42s are ok and do what they're suppose to do its mainly an issue with usf lacking a viable strat besides rifle spam and shitty maps. Relic should fire the who thought the maxim was ok and shouldn't get a aoe buff, because it still sucks at countering blobs
Yeah if they had released all the Alpha changes to MG's (which is more than what we got) the Maxim would actually have a defined roll, right now it's just an outdated PoS
Alex is being silly as usual. Ost has the best AT gun in the game, doctrinal access to pak43 and elefant(for team games) and schrecks. The last thing in the world they need is baseline 60 range TDs. 60 range Panther would be batshit overpowered. Stug g is amazingly efficient and effective this patch.
The only thing that might be off is ost tech costs for t4 in 1v1, but even then I've seen more and more people going for it in 1s recently.
I never once said the StuG needed 60 range, do you disagree that the Ost Panther comes to late compared to the other factions late game vehicle options? Because skipping t3 to rush it is essentially suicidal against a good opponent putting on a lot of pressure.
HAHHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHH I cannot believe I just read this. That is crazy am I the only one that thinks this????? It has always been and still is the best utility tank in the game the ONLY thing it lacks is AI but pz4 are crazy squad wipers so what more do you want jesus? Do you have any idea how hard a panther is to kill with someone with even decent micro and if not you have escape buttons. It has a high cost for a reason this is just non sense unless your fighting battle with your panther facing its ass to the enemy the panther does not need anymore range everything else that queen listed it has maybe we should put flame throwers mounted on the side of it too.
The Ostheer Panther costs more than almost any other tank in the game thanks to high teching costs. Nobody is saying the Panther by itself sucks, that's not the case. What people are saying is the Ost Panther is to expensive and comes to late.
Iv seen the .50 cal in literally every game Iv played since the patch. It can suppress a very large number of squads on the first burst and it has very good damage versus light vehicles combined with a fast set up and tear down time.
Like I feel that a lot of the complaints just stems from USF having a big shift in it's meta.
IMO if the mg42 is going to be this effective then flanking one needs to be highly rewarded. At the moment it shuts down a huge area without much of a risk.
Hardly "waaay more DPS and damage" considering the cost difference.
At vet1 with incendiary rounds on, THAT is "waaay more DPS", but its not DSHK that does it.
Aim time, set up and tear down and poor AP rounds make it impossible to "reliably kill any light vehicle", unless its immobilized first.
Except one rips light armor and infantry apart and other eats rifle nade and retreats.
As usual you talk so much shit that it makes people reading it want to flush.
It's got much better basic pen and damage than the MG42 does making it so the AP rounds on it are more effective because they are increasing something that's already high to begin with. Also yes incendiary rounds are good, this is known, Dhsk AP round are now also good to.
The Dhsk also does way more suppression as well, Iv had it suppress and kill enemies in green cover in a matter of seconds.
