I really have no idea why anyone bought this game as a pre-order or immediately at release given the state of the beta. If you wanted a competitive, balanced game (on day 1, no less) there were plenty of signs and even pretty explicit statements from Relic that it wasn't going to happen. Maybe I'll pick up the game on Steam Sale if it goes down, but likely I'll keep playing the vastly superior in nearly every possible way CoH.
So instead of flanking weapon teams in intricate dances that are interesting to watch and interesting to play, we're going to watch our retarded tier 1 mortar slowly (or very quickly) kill them as we sit behind a river and wait. Brilliant.
Don't pre-order and wait to see if the game is good, then buy it if it is, ignore it if it isn't? I think that's what every intelligent person should do anyway, pre-ordering is just a mess for titles you aren't absolutely sure about.
Edit: That said, reading these posts, it's clear that "intelligent person" doesn't apply to everyone in this thread.
It has real problems that I don't think will ever be fixed. If this game produces a quarter of the great games and tournaments CoH did I'd be very surprised.
The majority of the people on the BETA forums are also massive idiots, which can't be good. Thankfully (Maybe?) the devs don't seem to be listening to anyone anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
Well said Inverse. It's objectively worse than CoH1 as it is now and I don't see them making the absolutely fundamental changes needed to fix that. The competitive players will stick with CoH I think, as it stands.
