I´ve got the same bulletin twice. 3% accuracy on Pgrens. I´m hoping to unlock it a third time. Accuracy increases your dps directly by those 3%. So in theory you can get a bit more than 9% dps out of them, which can be quite a performance boost. |
OKW is the worst, the announcer in particular seems like he's trying to do a cliche Wolfenstein evil nazi impression, and tries way too hard with the accent. Then again I haven't heard that many native germans speak, so that may be the cause. I dare to say that in general the written English is way better than what we speak. That´s because all the tests are in written form. Communication is of course always possible, but it won´t sound nice. At some point I just gave up on the "th". |
I can comment on this from a different perspective. I have the German version of this game.
Imagine Russians talking German with a Russian accent. It sounds terrible. To make a Russian accent in German, every "H" has to be turned into the German "CH" which is formed in your throat. (Yes, even more sounds from your throat now). And most vocals get stretched.
This seems so unnecessary as Soviets are the only faction to ever receive an accent in the German Coh series. USF and British just spoke normal German. I actually liked how the British attitude was implemented in Coh1 with calm and rather polite voices, yet regular German.
I just hope they did it better in the English version (with both "German" and "Russian" flavoured English).
Thus I voted Ostheer for best and Russians for worst voices. |
It might result in a shit-storm but anyway:
A game with mirrored armies would be incredibly boring. I think we can agree on that.
Thus faction A does have vehicles with other stats than faction B.
Faction A´s best vehicle does get the lower cost, better anti infantry and general availability while faction B´s best vehicle gets better armor, penetration and vet-bonuses. For some people the latter stats seem more appealing and they will complain about faction A being too weak. But that´s pretty much what asymmetrical balance is about. Make use of the advantages the faction does give you.
Being a game in a historical context makes people biased. Imagine how civil these forums would be if it was red army (no pun intended) versus blue army.
But being about historical events, I agree with "German fanboys" that it would be incredibly dull to have T-34s beating Panthers one on one. That is just not how it worked. I feel there still needs to be some inspiration to real events. Thus the advantage of the better individual tanks in-game does go to the Germans. |
I don´t have the western front armies, so what I can tell you about the Jackson is only from the receiving end. I still avoid it with my armor. Two of them have an incredible damage output and can finish off Tigers in no time - even at range. I´ve lost some tanks to the 60 range before I could react.
The problem I see with the Jackson though is only slightly related to the damage. Its low health and somewhat unreliable penetration is the issue. People make mistakes and in a long game after 40 minutes even the best players get exhausted and start making mistakes. If you make a slight mistake with your Jackson, it´s done. And it will happen.
That being said, I would prefer its damage to go down but on the contrary penetration go up and a small health buff. This way the German player doesn´t lose vehicles in the blink of an eye and the US player has something which he can count on to deal damage reliably and stand maybe one more hit. In the end this adjustment would turn down the rng effects, because right now you either deal huge damage or none at all. |
I voted Soviets. Cheesy and no fun to play against. Restricting and no fun to play as.
Why cheesy? Two-men sniper squads, six-men weapon crews. It´s so forgiving to not care about your units in general with large squad sizes on everything. ISU-152 and B4 Howitzer are just the topping on your cheese-cake.
Why restricting? You can´t go for T3 and T4. No reliable medium tank outside of a doctrine. If you choose the medium tank, you block your option for heavy tanks (except for one doctrine that has both T-34/85 and IS-2). You can have Ppshs and 152mms but that blocks tanks for you.
Cheese however does save you.
Soviets are the new Brits (from Coh1). An annoyance for all involved parties. |
If the Jagdtiger gets nerfed, the ISU has to be nerfed also. Every game an ISU hits the field, it just wrecks everything until the Jagdtiger arrives. I don´t want to see the JT go down the road of the Elefant which is useless now, even versus vehicles. Meanwhile ISUs can ignore vehicles and punish the whole infantry force of the opponent and with some support can´t even be countered by regular (non-super) tanks. |
Relic took every advantage the soviets had in the war and threw it in the trash If you are referring to artillery, that´s an issue with every on map artillery in the game - not only the Soviet. 105mm as well as 152mm are under-performing. The B4 howitzer is actually the most useful artillery piece. In team games (and with some doctrines even in a 1v1) however all of them are easily defeated with one recon and bomb. |
Hey GiaA,
you might remember me from the game we played a week before. It was quite fun and an even game until you brought the double Soviet snipers, which totally pushed me off the map. I also made the mistake to not go for a Tiger doctrine but instead went for that Luftwaffe doctrine who can also trade fuel for ammo.
I consider myself a good player as I was in that constant lvl 16 category people mentioned in Coh1.
But strategies like that made me quit 1v1. In 2v2 you can at least make up for some of the annoying strategies with good coordination.
The game seems to be revolving much more about unfair strategies than Coh1, where (only) Roo spam, Staghound spam and medic bunkers were the biggest issue.
Right now 6 men weapon crews, sniper squads, call ins and no tech are the characteristics of every high level play. As soon as you don´t play your standard game, you lose (Ostheer: T1 + T2 --> Tiger call in, Soviets: Double Sniper, Guards --> T-34/85 call in or Maxims, Shocks --> IS-2 etc.). At some point it gets redundant. I honestly think that´s one of the reasons some players left.
Cheers. |
Does anyone have a link to a definitive list of what bulletins are available in game BTW?? That´s something I´d also like to know. There seems to be a bunch of new bulletins for the old factions with two buffs. I got a new one for halftracks increasing two characteristics by 2%, which I´ve never seen before. |
