They can get wrecked by sturmpios though. Sturm pios can run across an open field and still get close enough to smash conscripts. In: Red Army Strategies

Luckily, most axis players prefer bigger tanks. Even so, I'd only build T2/T4 in narrow maps like Rails or Kharkov. I find T2 to T3 the most conservative tech order, although T1-T2 + call-ins is also useful. yeha that is true about puma or any early vehicle that is fairly speedy that can get around your T2 units. T2 to T3 is nice and conservative i agree. There is a nice timing period where you can get one or two T34s out before Axis can get out a medium tank. If u have a great superiority in this phase, then it becomes easier to win. However, once this crucial phase is over and Axis starts putting out the Tigers, Panthers, and KT, then it becomes an uphill battle. In: COH2 Balance

On topic: this could be a fix, if in return Maxim is given some late-game scaling (more AoE suppression?). Currently the Maxim is an unfun unit that can be spammed by noobs to stall early game, but then falls off into uselessness (contrast to the MG42/34 which are beasts at vet 2 and 3). hmmmm i think one of the reasons why they are useful is that they can scale into late game. Thread: Soviets - A core faction discussion19 Aug 2014, 21:05 PM i actually find going T2 to T4 not bad on some maps. Usually i can hold down the fort with just T2 units such as mortar, MG, and AT gun. Since i play 4v4 exclusively, the Katyusha is quite good on maps where Axis blobs a lot (probably ever damn map!!!). The SU85 can shut down early armor as well. The only problem with this build order is that it is fuel heavy In: COH2 Balance

Out of all three factions probably Soviets a-move the least. Even maxim a-move is stupid. I am sure Panther and Elefant will be changed soon. Who knows? I was considering that armor+cover constitutes two rolls, whereas cover+acc red is a multiplicative single roll, perhaps to the result that it ends up scaling poorly according to the quality of the cover, whereas armor would be a single separate concrete roll in addition to first rolling past the cover modifier to hit. oh no i mean if the armor and recieved accuracy is the same, why they pick one over the other? i can see they got nerfed which is nice In: COH2 Balance

They suck because Soviets obviously lack training and only receive a rifle for every two men! Adding to this, Axis were so elite with their uber soldiers and their crazy tanks! Axis were the best at everything! If there is another is another faction with better equipment than Axis, that just means they are OP and need a nerf. In: Red Army Strategies
