How is it any worse than people giving advise to streamers or having 2 people at a computer (one playing, one watching/"spotting"). Sure, it's an advantage, but so is having naturally faster reaction times.
There is a delay on twitch as well. Twitch can do whatever it wants since it is not being owned by Relic. However, this observer mode is made by Relic, therefore it is in Relic's best interests to prevent cheating by adding a delay.
Well, how about a 30 second delay if you are watching one side? Then no one can help you detect flanks, idle units etc. It's not much different watching a stream on Hitbox with just a few tiny seconds delay where you already see everything he is seeing. People seem to be excessively afraid of it being abused.
Anyway, there's just a few minutes until we'll probably find out about the custom game observer mode...
two minutes is fine. Yes it will get abused if the delay is short or non-existent

Very good points Burt. There are a lot of things at work that made me decide to write this post.
It is like what you said:lack of good balance (in 4v4 games at least and historical accuracy
Obviously, if this game was too realistic, we would have Soviet might rolling all over the Germans; gameplay>realism especially in a computer game. However, I believe the current state of the game is not fun at all. Just the way the factions are designed leads to very frustrating and annoying gameplay.
Plus there are many WW2 myths being spread about all along media, games, etc., but that is too long to get into.
Basically this topic is a reaction to bad balance, bad design, and lack of historical accuracy on relics part. In addition, people defending the status quo using silly historical quibbles about Axis dominance doesn't help as well.

How early should I get medics and after how many units?? |
Then you are watching the whole game. I'm talking about just spectating one side of the game in real time.
I don't think real time is fair. First, there is bound to be a delay because of lag. Secondly, even though you are only spectating one side, you can have people "spot" for you which is still cheating.
You will need the delay to prevent cheating. |
I know this is getting off-topic but most of my buddies like to play allies. The amount of people searching as Axis also prevents us from getting a speedy game. I would like to play more Axis, but the general state of team games make me feel dirty when playing Axis |
If anything at all the thread helps to identify who is a true allie fanboy.

I voted Volks because of their veterancy. Makes them unkillable. PLus they get schrecks which is a powerful upgrade. Grens are good as well |
Hi guys. Which T0 upgrade, if any, do you get and why?
I find that I can win games without the Medics because it is very expensive. Hell, you can get by the entire game without any Conscript upgrades. I stopped getting the Molotov because the throwing time is way too slow, and players can just move out of the way. Right now I am experimenting with just AT Nades as an upgrade.
What about everyone? |
This thread is cool but I make one thread making fun of allies and it was instantly locked. Cool to dish but not to take. Sad.
I think it depends on how you write it. I try to make it as comical as possible without naming anyone in particular. However, this one might get locked soon so not sure how long it will last |
Why would that be? What if you could spectate your friend and only see what he is seeing? They should have done this for automatch as well. It would be the same thing as watching someone streaming on Hitbox with just a few seconds delay, except that you can look around the map yourself and experience the fight in highest quality possible.
But I guess we'll have to be excited about some streamer doing some livecast sometime...
I believe League and DOTA2 have something like a 2 minute delay so it is okay |
