Nah, however you used snipers which were in rax, or rangers fire up when you went 4-es.
and this |
Forgive me since I haven't played vcoh in years, but I'm pretty sure you didn't use jeeps to kill MG teams.
And yes, the maps made a difference, there's about 5 maps that suck as allies in 2v2 alone against MGs (Kharkov, Minsk, ettelbruck, bysrtaya, and arguably trois ponts) and about 4 for axis as well (both moscows, and I can't recall the other two I veto at this moment).
Not kill MG crews, but jeeps gave vision, so you know where/how to flank and they could harass MG crews. the problem now, specially in 2v2s is that there are overlapping MGs and you dont know how/where to flank.
I veto Minsk, Ettelbruck, Bysrtaya, and Trois points myself, as allies. I doubt they would fix the maps. So I also suggest an increase in MP for the MG 42. I don't think we should nerf the MG BUT you have to admit that its now really hard for a team of USF players to deal with MGs |
This is really all there is to it.
It sucks that some maps have shit design and do favor mgs, but nosliw has pointed out earlier in this thread that the vcoh MG was flank able without the utility of smoke nades and truesight.
People juse need to get good.
Meanwhile, bump the MG cost to 260-280 and we're golden.
And in vCoH the maps were more open and the US had the jeep |
Dont you think its a bit debatable if all those Sturmtiges saw actual combat or not?
Those 20 M26s were part of the Zebra mission where they immediatly got split between the 3rd and the 9th armored divisions and then sent to fight along the Roer river with the Lovelady Task Force in 1945, during those battles 1 M26 got knocked out near Elsdorf and then an M26 claimed a Tiger I kill along with a Panzer IV kill during the very same battle.

If the two players are of equal skill it's never a roflstomp. But the axis factions are designed to be weaker early game. That's why both OKW and Ostheer infantry is weaker than USFs. That's why Ostheer has MG42s to combine with their Grenadiers to win riflemen by using positioning and baiting tactics. That's why OKW has a resource deficit and 5 levels of vet. Allies have always had strong infantry and controlled the pace of the early game with their manoeuvrable squads. It just so happens that before the MG42 buff, an american player could run 4 riflemen at an MG42 and kill it. That shouldn't happen and is rewarding slopping noob play. Have you ever tried running 4 riflemen directly at an MG42 in CoH1? Let me tell you, they won't even kill the gunner of the gun, let alone wipe the crew. As I said before, if americans could survive against the strong MG42s of CoH1, then they most certainly will in CoH2 with riflegrenade smoke and fast M20s. People just need to give this patch some more time and both learn how to play effectively against MG42s and become better players overall. We can't simply nerf the MG42 simply because a few allied fanboys find the game too difficult now.
Maps in CoH 2 are not as open as maps of vCoH. Even Jesulin finds it hard to flank on some maps. MG 42 needs a cost increase as I doubt maps will be changed |

Yes. Some units are designed to be extremely cost effective with their ability to hard counter sloppy micro.
Erm, high templer does not come at the first minuet of the game and you need to research some abilities. With MG 42 you don't need to do any of that shit. |
Just look at starcraft. One high templar could kill 50 marines (50 min/150 gas templar vs 2500 min of marines) but no one would say templar is OP. They'd just say get good and learn to micro.
You are comparing templars with MG 42s? |
It also arguably benefits more from garrisoning than other MGs, considering how much faster it can pack up between windows.
All team weapons which can be garrisoned within a building now share the same setup/re-position time of 4 seconds |
