I displaced out a RE squad with an OKW truck the other day, he started retreating the dude scattered and eventually just stopped retreating and resumed the firefight. Utterly bugged. |
I'm really hesitant to come out with hyperbolic, catch-all summaries on the state of the game. But post patch I've dropped 14% winrate in 2v2 as USF, and honestly its hell out there. Buffed Kubels, buffed grens, no counter for the wehr sniper other than taking out the freshly nerfed truck commander. Of course the game is balanced for 1v1 but I doubt its much better in that bracket either. There also seem to be a speight of people trying their hand at allies who, patently, should stick to those Axis 4v4 turtlefests.
I'm probably gonna cool off on automatching with randoms for the meanwhile. |
Not until you've stood in front of a Tiger (I did so at the Falaise Museum) can you imagine the morale effect of one of those rumbling towards your foxhole. The converted T-34 they used in Saving Private Ryan did no justice to this behemoth. |
Melee should definitely be a part of this game, as it was in the Close Combat series, I always cringe a little bit seeing two units just standing up firing their rifles point blank into each others faces. Engagement ranges should be extended also to prevent the clusterfuck of late-game. A sprinkle of realism and you've got a great simulation in this engine. |
I arrived at pretty much this exact build myself today, with a howitzer against wehr turtle strats. The Lt and his accompanying units are all hard countered by either early Rat launchers or rushed shreks, both a common sight against OKW. For the fuel cost, I think the Lt. needs a distinct combat buff or off-table call in. Fuel is it at such a premium with the USF I just can't justify Lt. into flak HT, then twiddling your thumbs waiting for the Captain. |
