You definitively should using the .50 for the advantages it provides:
fast setup time. > use it offensively. > abuse A-move it combined with a spotter so it setup fast and suppress.

This is different than kubel how? 0 mp bleed.
And gets 1 shot by schreck literally, I think you really have to use this to understand its terrible hp, I wouldn't even trust this to have a garrison in it...., so by that alone its not even viable past the first few moments of early game..., meanwhile kubel eats bazookas.
Well, I actually use it quite a lot lately. The unit is good vs OKW players going fast Kubel. It has also its impact vs Ostheer on some maps and especially vs Ostruppen strat/skip T1.
Now the unit is not useful in every map (do not use it in sturdorf for example)
And don't get us wrong, we're not saying Kubel is fine, we are saying WC51 is fine and can't really be buffed without getting OP.
Kubel can definitively be nerfed or by having its back armor reverted to 2 / fuel price increased to 5. |
You'll never see this unit buffed, this would make the USF early game too OP.
- too strong = Ostheer can't deal with it early game
- too cheap = Comes too early and let you free roam on the map
IMO, the unit is in the right spot in term of price / time to hit the field. remember when they put it CP1, the unit became completely useless. the only room to improve it is improving its pathing...
Also you are wrong if you use it as fighting unit empty. there is no way to lose any fight vs pioneers if there is a RE or RM squad in it.
So the problem is the Kubel here:
- revert back armor to 2
- Increase fuel price to 5 |

I know being a good player doesn't necessarily make you good a balancing and vis-versa but honestly you are less than average in this game, one sided player and completely bias in your opinion every time balance questions are evoked. I could probably make statistics on your reply history to prove it
Statistics are pretty clear something is wrong with OKW. Before the patch, OKW was a bit UP in 1vs1 and strong in teamgames, now it is OP in almost all game modes and people (except Johnny) know that since OKW is the most played faction by a huge margin in every single modes.

The problem is volks getting free access to flamnades and shrecks. Make them pay to unlock them and all other balance issues will be reduced by a good margin, HMG included. |

Don't know about Vickers but HMG.50 is on the right spot vs infantry. Don't forget to use its vet1 ability to reposition after suppressing a blob.
This and from my point of view, .50 isn't a defensive HMG but offensive one, really easy to use with a pair (or more) of rifles. A-move and micro your RM when you fight, the HMG set up really quick, suppress fast and you reposition faster when needed. |
I used to fight OKW before the patch pretty easy:
- went often double M20 (killed retreating units pretty easy this way)
- AA was used agianst blobs
My opinion to USF now:
- M20 almoust useless
- AA doesn´t do a thing to blobs (only surpression is still good)
- Volks with schrecks kills rifle man too easy (one schreck-shot instant-killed 2 guys in a squad)
- Jackson gets killed too easy
- I also think that Sherman is now less effective against inf (maybe I am wrong)
- In total, USF is weeker now against OKW
Question to you guys regarding USF:
1. How effective are BAR-rifles now? Never used them before - alsways went for M1919
2. Did granades changed? Before they were too week from my opinion.
3. Anybody uses AA?
4. What´s with the second special ability of stuart? What is it good for?
1. BAR are good since last summer. M1919 are better in open maps still
2. USF Grenades are a two edge sword, and slower than Volks flamnade so unless your opponent is sleepy, don't use them too much
3. AA is still good vs any infantry. Just don't use it alone with no support.
4. Stuart second ability is an engine damage shot, but it is a skill shot.
-M20 is far from useless, just keep it at distance.

well ostwind come later than centaur,
so when centaur arrives OH prob usually have 1 pak, OKW prob 1 AT and 1-2 shrek, and facing 222, puma, p2, which all ate by centaur like snack
when ostwind arrives usually face T34, SU76, sherman, comwell which all ate ostwind like food <---This is pretty much the reason alot ppl don't get ostwind.
centaur shreds all german light armor's like knife and butter. while ostwind have trouble deal with Stuart and AEC, increase ostwind pen so it can easily force off those 2 units.
also when they first arrive they are facing different blob size, centaur face max 4-6 sq (depend on weapon team he have), ostwind (facing 5-8sq and possible med armor) on the field since ostwind kills slower, it need on the run most time.
for example centaur face 3 sq VG with shreks, usually come out winner as it will kill fast enough to force 3 sq vg to retreat, while Ostwind will most likely run from 3 sq rifles with zooks as it kill slower.
so because of arrival time difference and quite few factors centuar is much more effective than Ostwind
i actually interest to see centuar and ostwind 1v1 who will be the winner, prob centuar though.
I always have a StugIII by the time first Centaur is out and it is more than enough to send it to hell. |
Just an idea out of my mind. I won't do a large paragraph on it.
What if simply, to reduce Blob effectiveness Relic simply reduces speed velocity of any Shreck/Zook squad carrier.
Includes: Captain + any USF zook carrier, Pzshreck + shreck, Volks + shreck, any troop that pick up an abanandoned zook/shreck. Since Sov must pickup a doctrine, I don't think guards should be impacted by this change (but I let you vote on it).
Speed velocity could be the same as those UKF heavy sapper (I don't own UKF and don't know their name) or a bit faster, this technical question would need some testing.
Aggressive Anti-AT blob would be much less powerful since if you survive first encounter you can simply drive back faster than they can run.
For sure, some people will say ppl will simply build more to make sure it one-shot anything, but at some point if you really invest and blob that much of volks/RM + shreck/Zook, you should be rewarded if you catch your opponent off-guard with so many AT.
Units like M15 or Luch or Ostwind or Flack-HT or Centaur would become much more effective to control blobs in a defensive way.
Shreck and Blob would keep all their power if micro ed defensively or by attacking on flank.
Last thought, even if you still want to blob aggressively, it will requires a bit more micro with 2 groups not going at same path velocity. |
