From the guy mainly playing allies, must be really easy to justify each win with "ohh the enemy did not micro good enough but my rifleblob is totally ok". Yes Ost can be rewarding but mainly due to the fact that every single one of your units are so underpowered that every win feels like a miracle.
I will try that too since I also agree with how Mirdarion portrays whole Wehr situaion. It does feel weird how I'm a "noob" playing wehr nowadays and then when I switch to allies I'm suddenly somewhat skilled again.
Spearhead doctrine is your best friend with G43 CP1. Yes I feel like this is the best tool to punish USF mortar abuser.
You can set a nice trap like:
x2 HMG42 so you call him hardly for building mortars and then, x3 gren G43 to punish him to to do it.
5men Gren squad is a still the worst idea ever that would break the balance.
Maybe one day, Relic will fix the USF mortar and Penals/Guards combo and then balance will be back.
Hello ***** ,Yeah i asked for panther buff because it needed it and got a modest one with 320 armor.Still underpowered unit with allied buffs.
I asked for tiger buff because it was needed and it did get 5 range.Again weak due to pen buffs.
120 mm was batshit OP ,and rightly asked for nerf which it recieved.
Come back again sometime boy with a proper answer.
Someday you should ask devs to buff you, you'll see yourself playing better.
Like I say, there are many ways to reduce mortar impact vs static units in cover. Like I suggested on the gren topic, give Gren/other units a defensive bonus vs indirect fire while not moving in cover.
Relic could also implement an arc of fire for USF/OST/Sov mortars like Pak and ISG have so they, at least, need to re-position if you are flanking them. And maybe nerf the packing/unpacking time of those units making them much more vulnerable to flanking.
there are plenty of options before reaching such unilateral nerf like you propose.
Starting pio =>T1
x1 pio
x1 sniper
x3 gren
T2
x1 222
I send 1 pio at occupying choke point house and the other one to cap my side map.
Once the sniper hit the field, I send it with the pio in house and start pushing a bit to eat some IS with the sniper => Objective Brit's fuel or Cutoff.
the 2 next grens are going straight to the sniper to support him and continue the push if possible
third gren to cap other side of the map or switch with the pushing pio.
You have to be careful of the bren, but with 2 gren around the sniper, it shouldn't be a problem
You have to be careful with an early AEC, put a mine on your retreat path or where you can lure it with your 222.
Yeah thats what I meant pretty much, nothing is more annoying than to move an infantry squad and you get bombed by the mortars and the enemy didnt even click once
But still making the barrage be real short is probably the best so if for example you bomb an AT gun and he moves it and you know where it is you can continue bombing its new position
Should we also implement this for HMG, ATgun etc... all units in fact. If you don't give them direct order they stay here and do not fight.
There are many ways to reduce their effectiveness, but removing auto-fire is just bad and already tested with the ISG/Pak and considerate as bad idea at the end.
