I made this post a few years ago, dead now and didn't get any traction. Here we go again, a simple suggestion:
When in matchmaking, why not have 2 players who are searching together (or 3 for that matter) start next to eachother in the game? Seems like a very simple thing to implement that wouldn't detract anything from anyone else in the game. Zero impact for other players involved, very big impact for people in matchmaking together.
It is honestly more fun to lose with a buddy while running the same side than it is to win while completely split apart.
I have zero computer programming experience, but I feel like this is a feature that could be written in in a single work day or less. I don't see any negatives, not sure why it doesn't just exist as a matter of course anyhow?
